I miss Gramma. This was her favourite holiday and it hurt like a bleeding wound all day. I started crying when my cranberries gelled-- something she always wanted them to do and when I made her favourite pie.

It's been a year... why does it hurt so much still? Will it always hurt like this?

A year isn't so long when you've loved them for a lifetime.

Peace to you, Samantha.

This is true and I need to remind myself of it. One year alone is nothing to the 26 with.

Thanks, Dayna.

*hugs* I think there will always be times that you'll feel it more acutely than others.

You can never put a time limit of missing a loved one that past away. I found myself wanting to tell my mom something just the other day and she's been gone for over ten years. It still brought a smile to my face thinking about what she might have said if she were still about.

I'm hoping to get to that point where thinking about something she did will make me smile. I'm still trying to phone her now and then and it's nothing but pain.

I had hoped this would be a little easier since it's the second season without her, but not really. Sucks :(

I'm starting to realize that loss is loss, whether it's a parent or a grandparent or a friend. It's all a matter of how close you were to the person. When my father's parents passed away, it hardly phased me.

The holidays are tough for a lot of people, it seems.

I pretty much hate November. The only good thing in it is my sister's birthday.

I'm hoping it gets easier.

Sometimes I think the pain gets better and I'll feel really peaceful, then on holidays or my dad's birthday, or a random memory will pop up out of nowhere and I'll feel it really intensely. It's been a little over two years, which is still soon, so I don't know if it will always hurt. But, I can empathize. <3

I'm sorry about your dad.

It's those little random memories that just kill. I wince when I hear my voice on the answerphone, making her favourite pie was tough, or when I saw a pin I wanted to get her for Christmas.

Blah. Holidays. <3
