My hair turns out like this often when I use a round brush. I also have naturally curly hair. The only way to avoid it is to get the hair well into the brush, blow it with HOT air, then let it cool before removing the brush.
I am definitely going to get something better than what I used yesterday. The stylist recommended something by Bedhead and I think that's what I'll go with. I also need to find my big barreled curling iron to flip the ends a bit.
