what about using a round brush to dry it with? the other pic looked like the ends were curled up a bit. that's what I do with my hair (not saying it's awesome or anything...)
I did use a round brush. The stylist actually curled the ends with his flat iron, but mine is too big to do it properly and I couldn't find my curling iron.
I need to get a mirror in my bathroom to facilitate drying it better.
My hair turns out like this often when I use a round brush. I also have naturally curly hair. The only way to avoid it is to get the hair well into the brush, blow it with HOT air, then let it cool before removing the brush.
I am definitely going to get something better than what I used yesterday. The stylist recommended something by Bedhead and I think that's what I'll go with. I also need to find my big barreled curling iron to flip the ends a bit.
Your bangs look really good, but I agree with above commenter that the ends would look awesome with some curl. However, I am hair retarded, so I have no idea how to go about doing that. At any rate, it looks about a billion times better than it would if I had done it.
Ditto! Bangs=awesome the rest=should be curled up and into the face like the other picture. But it looks good for the first try! Keep at it though...I think you are on to something good! :)
Oh yea, it definitely needs some curl. I have a 3" curling iron somewhere that would do nicely, if I could find it. A better styling product would help a lot, too. I know where my cheque is going this week.
However, here are some nice tips (since I saw others giving them...)
Blowdry or Flat Iron?
If Blowdry--to curl under: use round brush, keep it close to your head, put hair around it (so it curls toward your face) and blow dry on low and warm. Kind of move the brush up and down (like lose a little hair around the brush, then roll it back up into it) until dry. It SHOULD* have a nice curl under.
If it fails at this, but is nicely blowdried you could use the flat iron over it.
Flat Iron: do nearly the same thing. Just kind of tilt it in the direction you want the hair to go while having it on a medium type setting and it SHOULD* work even if the flat iron is a little large. Do this several times, keep curling it under (but REALLY REALLY EXAGERRATE it. Otherwise it will end up stick straight and not nicely curled under).
Ah, I used it on high. Maybe that was the flaw in my logic. I'm definitely going to look for my big curling iron this week-end. I used to use it to straighten my hair ages ago. It worked a lot better than my flat iron, that's for sure.

A good smoothing product will help a lot. Right now I'm using Aquage. http://www.aquage.com/Default.aspx?tabid=73
There are many good ones out there though.

* SHOULD is the operative word here.
