Cell Phones?

I fail at getting online this week. I really am trying to comment on people's entries and my new goal is three entries a week, starting next week because I suck this week. I didn't even manage to set my alarm clock this morning. Thank God my bladder goes off around 6:30 every day. I got up at 6:40 and was out of the house at 6:55. That included make-up, getting dressed, and breakfast. Good thing I shower at night.

I bought shoes tonight-- cherry print cork heeled sandals and patent leather kitten heeled pumps. I found a Gir shirt that will fit my chest for $10 too. At least, now I have a couple pairs of shoes and I have my mum looking for shoes for me, since we are now officially the exact same size.

Okay, here's the real reason I'm posting: I need a new cell phone. We have Verizon and we're up for our new every two dealie. FList, what do you guys have for phones? Do you like them? I have a craptactular Motorola (Laura- you were right about the phone I have), so I'm not sure I really want to go with them again, but I am also not ruling them out. Please make recommendations, rants, phone-snark, what have you. I'm going Thursday after school.

I'm damn tired. Why isn't it Friday yet?

i have at&t... I have had three of the cheapass nokia bar phones, and they may not be the most feature rich, but they are reliable and hard to break. i don't know what you need in a phone, but my research indicates that bar phones are always more sturdy and long-lived than flipphones (no moving parts!).

the razr, by the way, looks nice but is actually a piece of shit. everyone has the things, and nearly everyone thinks they suck.

You have no idea how badly I desire an iPhone (probably third after my desire for a new iMac and a MacBook), but my mum will not switch to AT&T for hell and high water.

I've had bad luck with Motorola, so I wasn't really looking at them. However, I want to know why every last thing is either a flip phone or a pop up phone or some kind of easily breakable phone. And they had no Nokias! None! Bah, I hate Verizon.

yeah, phones have gotten so damn gimmicky! i have a prepaid plan, so it's pretty easy to get away with a cheapass phone with no bells and whistles--ie, one that won't break!
The last time i needed a new phone, i wasn't switching plans, so i bought a refurb. and i could have gotten just about whatever, but i read a bunch of reviews and a flipphone that was comparable to the phone i bought was reviewed much lower than the similar bar phone. the fact that wiring has to go through a joint is what they call a "bad plan". so i bought the bar phone...and i've had it over a year, dropped it everywhere, and there's not a scratch on it.

OH. of note here: if you aren't changing plans, and you are just buying the phone outright, you may be able to do what i did and buy a refurb (little known fact...). WAY cheaper than a new one, and your choices might be different. worth checking.

I have a Razr. I'm not thrilled with it, but it's pink.

Peter is on his second LG. I had one too. He's really pleased with it, and I loved mine when I had it.

Yea, my Motorola is pretty lousy, too. They never charge, they don't hold a charge, and they're constantly screwing up.

I have Verizon as well, and when I was up for my free upgrade, I got the Krazr (in grey). They also come in blue, red, and pink I believe. I love my phone. It's small and uber slim, which is good for me because I put it in my pocket. It's also got some sturdiness to it (I've dropped it a few times), and it's pretty looking (the front is sort of mirror-like)... of course this does mean I am constantly polishing fingerprints off it ;-) I would recommend it. Anyone I know who has it loves it as well.

hahah. I just looked at all the above people busting on the RAZR. I agree. I've heard shitastic reviews from people I know who have that. Mine's better. KRAZR. Me likey.

I just got a new phone and I'm getting rather attached to it (though it took a while). It's the (*oops!*) Motokrzr K1 (it's black with red inside, the promo one that donates $ to fight AIDS in Africa). Can't comment on long-term loving because I've only had it for a week. I like it way more than my past phones though (except for a Sony Ericsson one I had about 3 years ago, that one was nice albeit bulky).

My Motorola cell phone was the worst one I've ever had. Now I have an LG and it is ok. I never had any problems with my Nokia phones. I think I had three of those.
I want to see what your shoes look like. They sound super cute.

As you know, I love my Nokia phones, but they don't have much with Verizon. If I had switched, I would have gotten the Samsung U-740...my friend got one and loves it. A co-worker also had one and loved it.

It is a dual flip phone, with a full qwerty keyboard. Pretty neat, though I think the layout is a little confusing...probably just take a little time adjusting to it. So yeah, take a look and see if you like it.

Brian and I both have the LG Chocolate phones and love them. The touchpad that you use to navigate through the menus takes a little getting used to but then it's super easy and fun to use. I highly recommend them.
It's funny, you're the second person on my friends list this week to ask about cell phones because their contract is up with verizon and it's time for a new phone.

My mum just kind of sprung this on me. We were having lunch the other day and out of nowhere, she decided we all need new phones.

I think we're going with this flippy kind of Samsung that had a really good deal. Hopefully Samsung will do better for me.

We use motorola phones (partially because Mark used to work for them and we got them at a discount), so I have no complaints about the phone. I can't stand Nokia. I've had a Samsung phone, and those were really nice.

We have Cingular, who I hate. But, it's the cheapest one for a pair plan. If I had a choice, I'd go back to T-Mobile. Because I had great experiences with them -- from customer service, to their billing ease, etc.

I absolutely hate Verizon, honestly, but since I do not pay the bill, I do not get a say in who we have as a carrier. I've heard good things about T Mobile, though. I will eventually switch to them when we finally switch off from my mum's plan.

I have T-mobile and I have a sidekick an John has a entry-level plain Motorola phone. We don't usually have any problems. We've had t-mobile together for like 5 years

I was looking at the Sidekicks a few weeks ago. They have so many features! It would take me the next two years to learn how to use everything, I think.

Since, you know, I actually just learnt how to use this phone and now we're getting a new one.

i have a verizon...i have an LG 9900...love it, great for texting if you do a lot of that like me

bren has a razr he doesnt mind it, but i had one before the 9900 and hated it, def dont get that.

It's funny, I almost never use my cell phone anymore. I text Steven occasionally, but I never answer it and I tend to leave it at home all the time. Steven is the resident phone user.

I think I'm going with a Samsung.
