Winter

Just when I thought we could avoid it, winter turned around and slapped me in the ass. It's 15 degrees out and the wind is howling like a wounded animal. I think the thermostat is broken again, because I turned up the heat and my feet are still cold. I would've liked to have avoided winter altogether, but I'm not that lucky. At least there's no snow.

I wore my cute little hat from Aeropostale today when I went out because my hair looked like I licked my fingers and shoved them in an electrical socket. I also wore the fingerless gloves and would've worn my scarf if I could find where the frak I put it when I finished it in, oh, October. I bet it's over by Steven's computer because that's where everything is. I'll look for it in the morning since I want to wear it tomorrow.

I kind of wish I had done more today, but I slept till 3, which mostly killed the day. I'm a loser, but I haven't been sleeping and this was the first night I'd actually gotten some semblance of sleep since I was sick. Oh and sum total of flu weight was 6lbs. That was the worst way ever to lose it. Anyhow, I went to BJ's and spent a grand total of $6 and change, which is almost unheard of. I couldn't find anything I wanted, aside from the half and half we needed and a box of Bisquik to replace the ghetto Stop & Shop stuff we had. I wish I could have just made one stop, since it was cold.

I got my curling iron at Wal*Mart. It's a ceramic Revlon 1 1/2 barrel and it works really well. My fringe looks quite nice now, if I do say so myself. Other than that, I picked up a few odds and ends from Wal*Mart and came home. I made muffins tonight. They needed a little more lemon, but they're not bad. A little jam and they'll be delicious.

I repainted my nails tonight, coral base and white tips. Not sure if I like it yet, but it's different and I was bored. Plus, the silver had chipped. I know I did like that. I wish there was better stuff on telly late at night. I'm back to watching Animal Planet.

I'm glad you found a curling iron that works and that you haven't burned yourself with it. My mom and my aunt both burned me with one when I was younger. After that I went for the straight hair look.
I also went to Wal-Mart tonight and painted my nails.

It was a good day for that.

My mum was the queen of burning me with things. She was also very efficient at snarling the hell out of my hair when she brushed it. I used to scream like crazy.

My mom did that to my hair too. Then she would refer to it as a rats nest. I also have a mole that sticks up on my shoulder and she would always hit it with the brush and make it bleed. My aunt burned me with the curling iron because she told me that she wanted to talk to me about the dirty deed and I finally figured out that she meant sex and then I said sex and she jumped and burned me.

Heh, my mum called mine a rat's nest too. Ironically, rats' nests are rather orderly.

That is a great story about getting burnt.

It's good to know I am not the only one with a rat's nest. :) My mom is not good with hair. She cut hers short when she was 10 and it has been that way since then. So she doesn't really know what to do with long hair. My dad was better at it than she was.
I'm glad you like the burn story. She also told me that day that if she had two sons instead of two daughters that she would buy them a big box of condoms and tell them to have fun.

Oh man, my mum did the condom thing. I was about 13 and all kinds of mortified. Except instead of "have fun", it was "For God's sake, don't get knocked up."

At least you have extra blood from the baby! Steven's been doing that too. My feet would've been falling off by now. I have my insulated combat boots on.

It really is. Brings new meaning to the phrase "ass-bitingly cold".

On second look at them this morning, I really like them. It's a little different from the usual french mani.

I grew up in Vermont, so no snow for me is an amazing phenomenon. I remember regularly getting a foot of snow at a clip. However, if you would like our assbitingly cold weather, I will cheerfully send it down to NYC. It's frakking 11* right now and the only people out in Chinatown tonight were the junkies.

This made me laugh. :)

It was in the 60s for us today...as opposed to the 80s.

I actually had to make Hello Kitty waffles the other night. They were not as delicious as expected.

Soon, if this cold doesn't break.

They did not have maple butter on them, thus, they are inferior.

I used to call Stop and Shop "Shop and Stop" for a year or so when I first moved to this state.

I need some Bisquick, I am dying for pancakes.

It's about the same temp here, brrr. Are you my neighbour?

My mum always called it Stop & Flop. We actually try to go to Hannaford's or Shaw's because they're cheaper. Or the unholy money pit of BJ's.

I think, indeed, I am as I'm in Mass and you're in CT if I remember correctly.
