Putting off resizing the photos that [livejournal.com profile] mom_o_cass kindly emailed...

10 Things I've Done That You Probably Haven't:
1. Fractured my neck. When I was 7, I fell on my head off the monkey bars, compressed 3 vertebrae, and stress fractured my neck.
2. Dislocated both thumbs. I have extra lax joints and can dislocate most of my joints on will.
3. Stop & Shop bust. Nuff said, it's not ever day a you see a gun pulled on someone less than 10 feet away. Nor should it be.
4. Star Wars. I haven't seen any of the original three. I went to the new ones because Steven really wanted to go and I like to look at Ewan McGregor. Ssh.
5. I have no gag reflex. None at all, which is awesome when you get strep throat cultures.
6. Geneology. I can trace the Nickerson side back to the Mayflower and, while filling out information, found out my friend Beth and I are 9th cousins.
7. Had my plica removed. The plica is an extra bit of cartilage that usually disappears before birth, but remains in about 10% of babies.
8. I've never had chicken pox.
9. I've touched dolphins and emperor penguins.
10. I've been squirted by a squid.

i used to be the queen of geneology . i loved the stuff.
we have traced one of our family lines back to the 1400's.
william the conqueror is in our line. so is james knox polk(the president). its really interesting learning things about family:)

[livejournal.com profile] princessbunny made her wink for me.

Geneology is amazing stuff. On my father's side, we trace back to Elizabeth Bathory, the Blood Countess, and Beth has us tracing over to Phillip the Fair. It's scary when you realize, in the long run, how interrelated everyone tends to be.

the most interesting thing ive learned lately is that my grandfathers people were the anti mormons that were against my grandmothers family. They both were from missouri, but my grandmothers family was LDS, and grandfathers people were part of the mob that murdered raped and tortured the mormons.

yeah... my aunts were talking about it in hushed tones, like they were embarassed that they were related to the Mobs. It was a long time ago though(200 yrs) and Now they too are LDS so.... bygones are bygones in my eyes.

That's really interesting. We mostly have a lot of intermarriage, best the few oddballs.

Have you been to Ancestry.com? Very helpful. Also, if you find any Nickersons, let me know, because I have the geneology here.

4. Star Wars. I haven't seen any of the original three.

I woulllllld have been able to say that a few months ago! Stephen insisted that I must reclaim my childhood and watch them all so we did :/ They're pretty snazzy.

They actually were perfect for prints, so no biggie at all. I'll be picking your set up tomorrow.

Btw, would you be interested in doing bellydancing Thursday nights with Beth and me? It's $15/class or $12/class prepaid.

I can trace my mom's side of the family back to the Mayflower. I'm related to Myles Standish.

Ooohh, and once I was in Deep Ellum and got lost trying to go home... there was a bicycle cop alongside the car in front of me, and then suddenly his pulls his gun at the drivers and starts yelling. I was freaked out bigtime. He threw the driver down on his car and arrested him.

What are the family last names? I bet we're related.

I hadn't seen any of the Star Wars movies until about a year ago. Brian made me watch them all in order when Episode III was released on dvd. It was strange watching him pack up all the Star Wars stuff in his apartment when I had never even seen the movies. I told him I was afraid he would leave me if I didn't like them. His reply "Oh don't worry about that baby, you'll like them."

#4 I never watched the original three until I was in college and my boyfriend was completely mortified. His friends used to drive me insane because they were always quoting the movies.
#6 That is super cool. I wish I could do that sort of thing with my family, but my grandma won't reveal who my mom's bio dad is so I would only be able to to half.
#8 Have you been vaccinated for them?

It gives something to pick on about me.

Ooh, that sucks. Geneology is fantastic.

I have no. I've been around so many people who come down with them, that I should've gotten them. Same with shingles. My mum had a very bad case, so we're pretty sure she passed on an immunity.
