I was out all day today. Yay!

I picked Beth up around 11am. We bundled her daughter up and headed out to have lunch at the Breakfast Connection in Randolph with Rich. I had eggs and hash which wasn't bad, but it also wasn't as good as the hash at Bob's. Then again, I've never had hash better than at Bob's. I digress... We were supposed to meet up with her seamstress to take up the shoulders of her corset, but when Beth called the woman, she said she couldn't do it today. We were half way there at that point, so we kept going to for a couple more exits and dropped off at the Brockton RMV, since I've been putting that off for ages.

Holy Lord on a stick.. Brockton RMV is the most ghetto place ever. Beth said she had a wicked time of it at the Quincy RMV when she went to change her name: they wanted her marriage certificate, her new social security card, and proof of someone accepting her new signature before they would change her name. Signing the back of a credit card didn't count. In Brockton, I pretty much just filled out my paperwork and assured them that I did not intend to defraud the state with my alias.

I shall be known as Esmeralda Q. Peabody from now on.

Seriously, though, I asked about 15 times if they needed anything from me. We were there a grand total of 15 minutes. I came in, filled out my paperwork, handed it to the man behind the desk who, in turn, gave me a number which was the one they called immediately after. Got my picture taken, paid my $20, and updated my address, since it still had my Rockland address on the front. We thought about going to see my inlaws for, oh, .075 seconds before deciding to head off to the Plaza for food, fun, and mayhem.

Beth's sister's having her baby tomorrow, so she wanted to get something for the baby, as well as a couple little things for the older kids. We began our quest with delicious Godiva chocolate to fortify us for the trip. We went on a fruitless quest for a music box, which required more refueling (Cinnabon). Eventually, we made it to Things Remembered, where Beth found a beautiful box for her sister and I found bells for the boys for the wedding. Very productive. Cynthia then made a productive poop, which necessitated the buying of a bloody adorable teal and chocolate brown jumper, complete with coat and bloomers. So adorable! We stopped in at Claire's right before we left so I could get a couple more pairs of threader earrings. I found two and got Beth a pair since they were buy 2, get 1 free.

I got back here around 6ish and decided to strip down and crawl into bed with Steven. He will verify my ulterior motives: I was chilly and he was very, very warm. We ended up otherwise engaged and then... the ex called. We were pretty much done, but what timing! More school problems, yak yak yak. So we got chinese instead of actually cooking because we were both zapped.

Watched Dancing with the Stars-- you could really see the stress on Sara Evans's face. Good dances from Mario, but I still love Jerry. He's too funny. SVU wasn't bad, but I can wait for Mariska to come back. I don't much care for Dani. It's a little heavyhanded how they show Stabler his flaws. I mean, really....

So yes, that's my day. I'm watching something on Fetishes on WE before going to sleep.

And damn iTunes for allowing me to download it. I just watched the first ep of Conviction and I am absolutely, hopelessly sucked in. Why do you do this to me, Dick Wolf? Isn't it enough I give you Tuesday nights and my grandmother gives you Wednesday nights? Must you keep me in Friday nights too? Worse still, must you compete with Battlestar Galactica? Yes, Alex is hot, but dammit, Starbuck is too and it's just not fair. Why must you make me choose!?

I need to get a DVR or something so I can record my shows.
