I got my knitting book today from Overstock.Com. That gives me tomorrow to read through it and pick a project or two to work on and then Wednesday, I can go and pick out the yarn and needles for my projects, as well as a small ball of practise yarn. I am all sorts of excited! It almost makes up for the shitty earlier part of the day.

But enough about that. Onto the Valentine's Day booty. My mum got us cards (one with a chocolate lipped cow for Steven and a sentimental one for me), a box of Russell Stovers, and $25 for us to go on a date or something. We actually weren't going to go out, but after the grill incident, neither of us felt like cooking much. So, we're cool, we went to Tennessee's BBQ. Unfortunately, it wasn't as good as it usually is. After that, we went to the mall to fetch Elliott's sweater, which had sort of slipped our minds after he broke out in hives near his eye.

We puttered around, I picked up a Tutti Dolce lippie because they were only $5 instead of $10, a cherry blossom hand creme, and my Burt's Bees lippie. Saw the Ex talking to a friend of ours, but we obviously didn't bother stopping. Besides, I don't really want to be within 100 yards of him. I guess Laura almost hit him the other day on accident because he ran out in front of her.

Speaking of, Laura came over for a while today and she's my valentine this year. She brought me cherry blossom tea and I have her my Imitrex that I'm allergic to. It was nice to see a real live person, other than the one I live with. Yay!

Anyhow, despite Steven's dislike of the holiday, he's been getting me little things for about the last two weeks. So, from him, I received a pair of flying Cupid piggy socks, a chocolate rose, a red heart balloon, a really niiiiice massage, and happy, happy sex. I'm not going to totally elaborate on the varieties, but that was definitely the high point of today. Well, that and the back massage. I swear to god, you know you're getting old when a massage ranks up there with sex.

Oh, and I have computer sheepies. If anyone wants them, let me know and I'll email you the programme.

Welcome back, insomnia. You hadn't come around in so long, I had forgotten how much fun you were. Looks like Godzilla has it too. He's staring at me. Then again, who knows if fish really sleep or not.

I'm checking out the Republic of Tea website and it has me totally wanting to spend a frivolous amount of money on tea. I need to save since, unless I can find an office job, I won't be working until summer. I love tea, though. Ever since I had to give up coffee, I've been collecting different types. We have a grand English tea that's almost as good as a cup off coffee in the morning. I have a white tea, a red tea, and a million herbal teas. Steven even has this crazy lemon "tea" called Canario or something like that. We also inherited a tea infuser/french coffee press from Sam when she moved, which I am dying to try out. Alas, I have no loose tea.

Maybe I'll trot over to Whole Foods tomorrow and eye their tea selection.

In other news, I finally gave Laura her Christmas present today when she dropped in for a while. We horrified Steven playing with our bellies and I proved that I can, indeed, fit my bra cup over someone's head. Too much fun.

After Laura left, we went over to the gym, I worked my upper arms and swam for a bit. I've also lost 4.5 pounds since the last time I got weighed. Yay! May it keep coming off like it has been.

I'm going out for ice cream with my mum tomorrow as a reward for my good grades. And damned if I don't already know where I'm going. I just need to call and find out if I'm getting picked up here or what.

I think I'm going to try and go back to sleep now. Steven looked awfully peaceful when I got up and he's nice and warm to boot. Sitting naked in one's living room is chilly business. Well, my lap is warm, but that's from the sterilizing computer.

Oh, and if anyone's on during the day, please message me. I'm wicked bored being stuck at home all the time. Leave a comment if you want my AIM or YM screen name.

I really should have more substantial updates. I applied for a job. Again. Hopefully, I'll actually get called back this time. I need a job.

Bah, I need tea.

It looks like the power is actually back on once and for all. It seems to have remained on all night. MassElectric was here until about 9 last night, screwing around in the transformers. All in all, the power was only out for 17 hours. We lost about $100 worth of food, which really sucks because we can't afford to replace it. We have to go pick up a couple essentials today, like milk and cream.

Hey, but at least we have chinese food to be thankful for.

We ended up going to the movies yesterday, since there was no point sitting around, with no power, just looking at each other. We saw A Shark's Tale, which was cute, but it certainly wasn't Shrek or Finding Nemo. I'm glad we only saw the matinee. I wouldn't have wanted to spend $9.50 a head to see it. Movies are so damned expensive these days... I remember why we basically never go to them, now.

What else... We went to Ocean State last night to get useful things for the presumed blackout conditions. I picked up my Christmas cards and some gift tags while I was there, as well. I also picked up a box of Madagascar Vanilla Red Tea, which is actually really good. Then again, it's nice to just be able to make a cup of tea in my house again.

I need a shower. I have no clue what we're doing today, only that I need to shower before we do anything else.
