Laura needs lots of pokin'. It's her fault I'm not continuing on my lazy streak and not updating.

Obviously, I am back from vacation. I have been for, oh, a week, but I just haven't felt like doing anything. My excuse is that we got back and both promptly got sick, Steven first and then me. I'm still not feeling 100%. Stupid end of summer cold.

Conneticut was a lot of fun. We left Sunday afternoon, missing the horrendous thunderstorms that evidently struck that evening. We did, however, get to see a transformer blow while we were getting Mickey D's for the ride down. We got to the hotel around 4:30 and promptly tested out the Tempurpedic (herein referred to as the Torturepedic). You cannot bounce on those and forget flopping down. Fucking on it was kind of wierd to. I like the waterbed a lot more. Anyhow, after "killing time", we cleaned up, changed and headed to Mohegan Sun to meet up with Steven's friend Gerard and his girlfriend Allison.

They treated us to dinner at Pompeii and Caesar. If you have the oppurtunity, I would pass on it. The food was good, but overpriced. We did have an amazing asparagus and sausage risotto. I normally hate sausage and it was goooooood. Right there, that says a lot for it. Anyhow, I had swordfish, which was a wee bit overcooked and Steven had the special, which entailed salmon and seafood skewers. I wish I had gotten what he had. Anyhow... The dessert we had was amazing. We got the seasonal shortcake and it was HUGE. We split it and still couldn't finish it. That was well worth the money. The company was also pretty great. We ended up being there for over three hours. We walked around Mohegan Sun for a while and ended up leaving around midnight to head back to our hotel, where I took a nice bath in the (one person) jacuzzi tub. I need one of those.

Monday, we spent the morning in Mystic, poking around. Steven bought a polo shirt, I found the necklace I'd like for our wedding, and we saw ducks. Oh, and the ship that my great-great grandfather sailed on. It's in the harbour. We had lunch at a really good sushi restaurant and followed it up with some more shopping at the Van Heusen outlet. We also hit a wine tasting for a local vineyard. After that, back to the hotel.

We saw MeatLoaf Monday night. It was a clusterfuck getting our tickets straightened out and his voice was a little on the weak side, but we still had fun. I just wish the acoustics had been a little better. The band seemed to overpower the singing. I got my tee shirt, though. Hopefully, this one will last me 10 years too. We had dinner at a hole in the wall dinner. Then, back to the hotel for more sleeping on the Torturepedic.

We checked out of the hotel on Tuesday and then went to check out Foxwoods and the other local tourist traps. Steven found a place that sold badger hides. We picked up produce from a farm stand and went back to the vineyard we had gone to the day before for a tour. The tour was actually really cool and they had the best tuxedo cat there. I have lots of pictures of the kitty. We bought a couple bottles of their wine and then headed off to the famed Mystic Pizza, where the girls dress like they work at Hooters. The pizza was really good, though. We took a couple pieces home. After that, the vacation ended and we hopped onto the highway for home.

We went out to eat with Jeremy and his new girlfriend on Wednesday. Pizzeria Uno's is pretty evil. I ordered cow and it came out looking like salisbury steak. I sent it back and they gave me tasty salmon on the house for screwing up. I spent the week-end sick. Mom and I went to Verizon so I could get a new phone and so we could set a line up for Steven. Mom and I are going back this Thursday to change phones since Steven's doesn't work very well.

Oh, and I fit my ass into a pair of size 13 juniors. That made me stupidly happy. Now if only my belly fat would go the hell away.

I'm going to get all my shit done at UMass on Friday. I'm officially a student there. Yay!

Oh, what else... I think that's about it. I feel kind of sick, still, and I need new shoes because I realized the other day that almost all of my shoes are heels and wearing heels still makes my knee hurt. I am still holding out hope that eventually, it will heal all the way and I won't still have problems with it. Stupid knee.

I should go to bed. We're going to my grandparents tomorrow to help them out with their car. They're afraid the universal joint is going. Sigh. Not good.

He kept threatening to buy it for me to. Roadkill badger...

I actually didn't buy the 13s because they squeezed my hip fat more than I liked, but dammit, they fit and I could sit down comfortably in them.

If you have a Border's near you, check out the British version of Cosmo. They have a whole article on sexy weight. None of the girls are below a size 10. It made me really happy.

UNO'S IS NOT EVIL!! We went there on Sunday and it's still one of my favourite places ever... you just need to get pizza. The four cheese is fantastic, coz it comes with a pesto sauce instead of marinara. yum.

I love your new icon.

Their pizza is awesome. Unfortunately, I had had pizza for the three previous meals. My head would have exploded if I had anymore pizza. I should have gotten the fish and chips.

Now I'm starving.
