Tonight's Dinner
Oct. 20th, 2008 11:58 pmIn hopes of creating a little extra heat down here, I decided I would go on a baking binge. I decided to make Mac & Cheese for dinner, in addition to brownies.
Well, the brownies weren't so much for the heat. I mostly wanted to lick the bowl.
Mac & Cheese
10oz of pasta of choice
2T Flour (I use Wondra)
1/2t salt
1/2t mustard powder
1/2t pepper (I used white)
3T of butter or margarine
1/2c milk
1c or a little over shredded cheese (I used Cabot Hunter Sharp)
Boil pasta and drain. Set aside. Preheat oven to 375*
In a saucepan, combine milk, butter, and dry ingredients over medium-low heat. Slowly add cheese and continue stirring until cheese is all melted. Pour over noodles in a shallow casserole dish and mix.
I topped mine with more grated cheese, but my mother informs me you can also top it with breadcrumbs, paprika, or pretty much anything else. I also used a full teaspoon instead of a half and it was definitely more peppery. It was good, but a little too much with the cheddar.
Nothing to do with cooking, but does anyone have a space heater recommendation? There will be heat next week, as we're getting the new burner, but I want to have back up.

Date: 2008-10-21 06:17 am (UTC)I made blondies tonight, but they tasted AWFUL to me. Of course, the chicken nuggets we had for dinner tasted absolutely awful, too. Must be The Sick.
