We've had insane weather here today. It was dark and dreary all day, so I had been expecting rain. Around 16.00, I thought I heard my grandfather get up; it sounds like he was in the office chair, rolling it on the floor. After about 15 minutes of this, I realized it was thunder. It got dark, bad enough that i had to turn on lights, and the rain started. I ended up venturing upstairs when I started hearing hail.

We ended up with marble sized hail and a tornado warning, as well as a couple reports of water spouts. My grandfather and I were seriously considering heading back to the basement; that's how bad the winds were getting. The street ended up flooding out. After the worst of the storm, I ventured out. There was a plank floating down the street which had to be moved. The water in the middle of the street was halfway up my calves and at its deepest, to my knees.

This was after the water had started to recede. It was still almost to my knees.

My front yard. The dark line on the lawn is the high water mark.

Looking down my street. I'm glad that's not my Jeep!

Obviously, I am not going anywhere till the water goes down a little more. Steven said Boston was all fucked up from the weather, too, so I am going to pick him up from the train when he gets in. His 17'00 became a 17'40.

The crystal and marcasite bracelet I bought at the local junk shop for $10. It is missing a couple crystals, but it's still pretty. Art Deco, circa the 20s.

From the same junk shop. The ring is in much better shape and, while the owner said 20s, I'm guessing it could be from the late Teens, as well. More Art Deco, marcasite and aquamarine, Steven's birthstone.

New icon, too. It's from my crappy birthday, but at least I look nice in it.

That flooding is crazy! And I love that ring - I need to start looking in junk shops. :)

Junk shops are awesome. This one is a five minute bike ride, which is both awesome and dangerous because I have no money.

That was all in less than an hour!

It was quite impressive. It drained out in less than two hours, too.

Boston was, indeed, a mess. Boston is wacky today, too. I managed to not get soaked coming out of Park Street, but by the time I sat down with my breakfast, you couldn't see the station across the street. Good times, yo.

It's been like that here, too. I woke up and it was POURING. It is pouring now, but at least we aren't having thunderstorms. The cats hid under my stairs most of the night.

...When the kitten wasn't under the couch, nomming my toes.

I know! I've never seen it flood out quite that quick. One year, though, when it did flood, we had ducks.
