More Bug Adventures

devilgrrlI think I've remembered why I avoid the outside like the plague. We stopped over to see my cousin Linda earlier today and were just about to head back through the gate to my grandfather's when I felt a sharp sting on my arm. Linda has lots of bees. I am allergic to said bees.
I look down and see the culprit flying off. Mm, yellowjacket. Then, I promptly stare at my arm like it's going to have some kind of information.... You know "There, #3, that's the one that stung me!" But of course, my arm doesn't speak. While I'm staring like a dumb ass, I see the area starting to swell... then itch... THEN HIVES, at which point I turned to Steven and said "Oh, shit."
By the time we got across the back lawn into Grandpa's house, my arm was covered in hives and I am starting to wheeze a little. More dumb-assedness: NO BENEDRYL, NO EPIPEN. I am now two for two. We immediately head out to CVS to get the Benedryl strips. I found them and then picked the wrong line to get in. The people who were ahead of us wanted to pay with like three different kinds of tender. I'm behind them, patiently standing there as my throat is swelling up.
It seems that Steven would prefer to have me alive than dead; he opened the box and demanded I shove a strip in my mouth now. We pay and head back home. I do not die of a bee sting, for now.
Aside from Argh!Bees, I finally found a pair of shorts for a price I wanted to pay and we bought a 5 qt cast iron dutch oven for $17 at Macy's. Good thing on the shorts, too, since it's going to be in the 80s tomorrow.
