The first half of the day was horrendous, but I'm not writing about that here. We left from my grandfather's, after plying the cat with new toys and giving him his Christmas/anniversary pressie (will take a photo next time we're there) and I came home to take a much needed nap.

When I came back, Steven had a dozen gypsy curiousa roses waiting for me as well as a bottle of POP! Pink champagne. I got dressed, changed my into my wedding shoes and stockings, and we headed off for Nino's in Hingham for dinner. We'd never been there before, so I was surprised how nice it was inside! We were seated by the big glass windows, overlooking the frozen quarry and the lights.

We both had a glass of the house pinot gris and salads instead of getting appetizers. I order the dry aged New York Sirloin, which was the size of my head and Steven got Tuscan marinated strip steak. Both came with baked potatoes and butternut squash with cranberries. I literally took home half my meal, so I'll be having that again tonight. I think Steven took a good part of his home, too. We both had very good tiramisu for dessert.

We came back here, danced to our wedding song and my grandparents' song, then I took some photos of the cake and champagne in the candle light because attempting our wedding cake.

...It was surprisingly good. In fact, it was actually a little tastier than last year. It looks like the made the top better than than the rest of the cake, anyway. I may even have more than one piece of cake now.

Artsy shot of my champagne and toasting glass.

we just got $75 towards cheesecake factory so I think we'll be going there for a while (even though it takes like 2 hours to get a table argh - I have the cheesecake in the SSP)

It's crazy busy there, isn't it? We have a gift card too but I think we're going to end up going for lunch or something because I am too impatient to wait that long for a table.

once we went at 11pm and got seated immediately. and I agree about not waiting that long. It'd be faster to drive to the Boston/Cambridge/Brookline locations and wait there for less time. The Braintree location is insane
