I'm finally feeling human enough to sit up long enough to type something up. Yay for muscle relaxants and painkillers.
Products used, so far, are Aquamarina, Coalface, Sea Veg, Imperialis, and Big Blue; updates on Soak & Float, Godiva, and Jungle.
Reviews:
Aquamarina I was going to buy Angels on Bare Skin, but I told the SA that I still seemed to be getting the greasies from it in the afternoons. She suggested that I try Aquamarina instead, which I had been thinking of anyway. She cut a fresh slice off the roll for me, so it does indeed look a little like sushi.
I don't mind the smell. Some people probably will. You can smell the kind of salty freshness from the seaweed and little whiffs of calamine powder. I kind of pinch a chunk out of the container and rub it all over my face. You do get little bits of seaweed all over when you rub it in. It feels awesome, though. My skin felt very soft and not at all greasy. Even after sleeping, it still feel pretty good. I might want to get a scrub every now and then, but I'm sold on this. My skin looks clearer and I didn't have my period related break-out/grease fest this month.
Coalface Steven's been using this one and he's already talking about going back to get a full sized chunk. His skin looks great, too. His pores look smaller and his fine lines seem less noticable. He also said he likes the smell a lot and kind of likes the whole black lather thing.
Sea Vegetable I really, really want to love this soap. It smells great, fresh, salty, and limey. It's translucent blue-green, with salt and seaweed bits in it. Our bathroom smells of it. However, it's way too drying for my skin. I never really use soaps because if I'm not allergic to it, it dries me out far too much. Steven, who has the world's most normal skin, even found it a little too drying. This makes me so sad.
Imperialis Moisturiser I didn't like this at all. Didn't care for the smell, the colour, or the consistency. I used it anyway and found that my face basically refused to absorb any of it. My skin felt tacky all night. Steven found that it made his face feel greasy too. I don't see we'll get this again.
Big Blue If Sea Veg was a disappointment, this was a god-send. I am so in love with this ballistic. IT smelt divine, the water was a lovely rich blue, and it fizzed fantastically. The water felt very soft and moisturising. My only complaint was the seaweed. From all the reviews I'd read, I expected tonnes. There was barely a handful! I did scrub a little of it over my legs, though.
The bath felt so good, I dozed off for a while. The scent didn't really linger, which was a shame, but it also didn't mess with my hair, which was totally soaked in the water. I did catch little whiffs of it from my hair, at least. Steven used the other half (we have a small tub) yesterday and seemed very positive about it, too. Both of us felt very moisturised after.
Updates:
Godiva The little hockey puck still looks brand new and smells amazing. My hair, honestly, hasn't felt better. It's very soft and has great volume. I haven't noticed any issues with dye stripping. I still have pink ends. I love the ease of taking my shampoo with me, as well.
Jungle I'm personally loving it. Steven doesn't like it as much. I need to use next to nothing and my hair still looks great. It's awesome as a leave-in, it gets rid of frizzes, and it smells great. I'm still thinking of getting a liquid conditioner my next trip for occasional deep treatments, but this is definitely an awesome daily conditioner.
Soak & Float The smell seems to have died down a bit. It reminds me of how Vermont used to smell in the fall: green, but with a lot of woodsmoke. Steven's scalp looks amazing since he starting using it, though. His volume is great and his dandruff seems to be almost completely gone. His bar looks a tiny bit more worn than mine, but it's basically still in almost new condition.
Next trip, I think I will try the buttercremes or possibly one of the scrubby bath bars, like Buffy.

Date: 2007-08-19 06:31 am (UTC)I actually almost took a bath tonight. I have Champagne Supernova and Honeybee still to use, but my back was just not up for it. I'm definitely thinking of another one tomorrow. My poor wallet rues the day I discovered Lush.
Hell, Steven's even a fan now and he usually could care less about beauty things.

Date: 2007-08-21 08:04 pm (UTC)But the hand creams... whoa, they're a whole other story!!!
Your Lush antics inspired me to go buy the Haagenbath ballistic. Pink minty goodness, yahoo, but gentle enough that it didn't bother my sensitive skin.
I never have tried Champagne Supernova but you've inspired me to do so...

Date: 2007-08-24 08:49 pm (UTC)I smelt the Smitten hand creme last time I was there and died. I'm dying for school to start again so I can get some,
I keep trying the Imperialis but I just don't like it. I think I'm just destined to not use moisturiser.
