First off, a great big awesome happy birthday to
mom_o_cass. I hope today is wonderful and your next year is as great as you deserve. I'm so incredibly happy we met!
It's chilly today! It was muggy and about 90* yesterday, so imagine my surprise when I woke up and it was not quite 70*. Steven lied an told me it was really warm out. Unless the weather changes drastically, I think I shall be wearing my new jeans today.
Can I say how much I love BJ's? I got a pair of 518s for $19.99 there the other day. I saw the same ones in Hootenanny yesterday for $48. Not to mention, these had a length instead of the standard 33" inseam. Not to mention my giant box of veggie burgers and the HotShot I bought for $10.
Our electric bill finally turned up. It was for 38 days and the grand total was around $55. Holy muffin! Our electricity at the old apartment was easily $85 a month average. The $55 included paying for our hot water, as well, since we have an electric heater. We used to average over $100 a month in the summer if we had to use the A/C. I know we don't have A/C here, but we're still using three fans and heating water for showers. I'm kind of a loser for being excited about an electric bill.
I really hate Jeff Corwin.
Anyhow, so Boston yesterday. We found an awesome garage that only charges $1/hr to park, so we kind of meandered a bit. Found a dancewear store in Central and went to Hubba Hubba, which is now latex free. I hadn't been able to go in there in almost a decade because of the latex, so this was nice surprise. Actually, I think I bought something for Dawn's bachelorette party last time I was there. I didn't buy anything yesterday, though.
I spent most of the afternoon in Harvard, which is another place I haven't been to in years for whatever reason. They opened a Lush store just down the street from the Garage and oh. my. God, does everything smell amazing there. I was seduced into buying things: Black Pearl and Champagne Supernova bath bombs, a Godiva solid shampoo for me, a Soap and Float one for Steven, and a chunk of Jungle conditioner for us. They gave me a sample of Angels on Bare Skin, so I'm going to try that when I head up to shower in a few.
I definitely also saw Matthew McConnaughey walking around. I actually didn't recognise him, but I figured he was an out of stater because he said excuse me when he walked by me instead of just shoving past. Luckily, the bum on the street did recognise him and started yelling "Hey man, you're that actor, man!" No one looked really, since a screaming, ranting homeless guy isn't exactly unusual, but it amused me.
It's still chilly. Stupid August.

Date: 2007-08-09 07:05 pm (UTC)Only famous person (other than all bands I've hung out with) that I've seen up close and in the street was Seal walking out of Coppola's cafe in San Francisco one evening. I was like, hey... I know that face... Well, and Frank is in and out of his own cafe all the time, but yeah.

I managed to talk to the drummer from Blink182 for a good ten minutes about tattoos and had no idea who he was.
