Teen charged in dad's slaying

That was my old next door neighbour! I used to babysite for the kid in the photo. Bernie and Pam were responsible for teaching me about gardening. I was always over there as a kid. I just saw Bernie a few years ago. My sister called to tell me about this today because, obviously, she knew him too.

I think the last murder in Chittenden was like 30 years ago, when someone found a foot and half a leg in a hiking boot up to the New Boston Road. Wonder if this'll make the news down here.

I actually found a picture of me with him as a baby that I'll have to scan at school tomorrow. I remember Pam always having trouble with him, even as a child.

God, I just can't get over this. It blows my mind every time I think about it.

This reminds me of a couple years ago when up the street from my childhood home, two men were found slain and locked in the trunk of their car in the driveway. Very creepy.

It gets worse. His mum, who I was close to, died a couple years ago in a car accident. This is like creepy bad news day.

I guess he was talking on the phone about killing Bernie, put the phone down, shot him and the two dogs, and came back to talk on the phone again.

This all took place less than a 10 minute walk from where I grew up.
