We bought our tree yesterday. It's quite nice: very fresh, very green, and with a good, full shape. Our place already smells much more Christmasy. The best part was that our $28 tree cost only $20 because the nice men at the Eagles (where we always buy our trees from) felt guilty because our house was too far away to deliver. We also picked up a $5 wreath for our porch. Steven just needs to drive me to Walgreens to get some mini-lights and a hook to hang it from.

The tree is, as of yet, undecorated, which turned out to be a blessing in disguise since it fell over today. Yes, it's that fresh that the screws aren't holding it. I won't be doing much of the decorating this year, though, because of the damned knee. Yesterday, I vacuumed sitting down because it swells worse if I stand too long.

In fact, I let the kid poke my knee yesterday because he was asking what was wrong. He told me it felt like a water balloon. It hurts like hell. There this kind of burning on the inside of my knee, where I can't rub it. It's almost like there's something in there, like when you get a rock under your skin or something. Oh well, MRI's on Wednesday, appointment's Thursday, which means I should know the fate of the joint by Friday. Coincidentally, I also start my ham job Friday.

So tree... I personalised an ornament for our first apartment yesterday. It's cute. It has little mice in a stocking and says "Our Christmas Together 2004". On the back, I put "Our First Apartment 2004". Beats a premade ornament anyday. We decided to wait on the First Christmas together for after we're married. Makes sense, since really, this isn't the first Christmas we've been together.

Gah! I so want to decorate the tree, but Steven's sleeping, my knee is hurting, and I can't stand up that long. I'm going to lay down.
