Damn, the cicadas are loud.
Jul. 17th, 2004 09:44 amWell, summer's officially half over. I can hear the cicadas outside my window. It's actually been a surprisingly cold summer. There haven't been any 90+ degree days in July at all this year. Usually, we have at least one or two. They were even saying it was unusual on the news.
My birthday is tomorrow. We're going to my grandparents' today to celebrate and, I think, we're going out to lunch with my mom tomorrow. She still hasn't gotten back to me yet with a time. All that means is that I get to eat the banana thing I get every year and that makes me unhappy for the rest of the night. Yay, allergies.
Paid the electric bill yesterday. I also finally got our cheques and Steven got his debit card for the house account. How exciting is that? I'm still concerned with not having a job, but I've applied for the three that I found. I've not heard back from any of them, nor have I heard back from Bridgewater yet. I keep hoping for the best on that, but I'm expecting to get another rejection letter because I had to apply so late.
I need new underpants. I've had to throw out three pairs this week, not counting the ones that I had already culled because they were falling apart. I also need a couple new bras, but I may wait on those since I've been working on losing weight. The last thing I need to do is blow money on bras and then have the backs no longer fit. As is, my 36s are getting a little loose on the back.
We finally went to the gym.
Ooh! Running wild horses on the Tour de France!
Now that I've diverged... We're thinking about looking for another gym in the end of winter, when our memberships run out. I'm not as happy with Webb's as I was when I first started going a couple years ago. I can't use the pool anymore because they so over chlorinate it, I generally refuse to use the hot tub because it gets this skeevy yellowish colour to it, every single class they have, they charge members like $40 for. Steven and I have been looking into getting a family membership somewhere, now that we live together. It most likely would end up being equal or less than what we're paying now. Oh well...
Maybe I will use a bit of my birthday money to get some new underpants. Vicky's has some pretty cute prints this season.
Right, Lion King Tuesday, Alice Cooper the 1st., Bob Dylan the 8th. (I think), and Rush on the 12th. Thank god we bought concert tickets when we still had money in the spring. I wanted to see the B-52s, but I don't know if I can afford the $25 a ticket. Maybe next year...
I'm going to go find juice.
