Merry frakking Christmas. I had my wallet lifted sometime this afternoon. I'm hoping I'm stupid and left it at a restaurant, but meh. Time to go cancel everything I own.

Oh, that does suck giant ass. It's that time of year. I know that sounds bad, but it is very true. Being in banking you'd be surprised at how many new accounts we're opening because people got their checks stolen, debit cards stolen, fraudulent activity. :sighs: I am hoping you just left it somewhere, call around. You never know. Someone may actually be honest.

Oh, I'd believe it. It sucks because I'm usually really good about this. I've already cancelled the cards in it and there was no cash, so I'm hoping someone will turn it in. I really just want my ID back.

I'm almost positive I did. I think someone lifted it on the T, honestly, but I'm hoping I'm an idiot and left it at Kaplan or the restaurant.

IDs are usually the hard one. And hopefully you don't carry your social security card in your wallet.

In Minnesota it takes from 3-6 weeks to get a new ID in the mail. I find it irritating. In Illinois I'd walk in, get my picture taken, have an id in five minutes and be out the door.

I actually think my social security card might have been in there, which is the other really suck thing. Luckily, in this case, my credit is pretty awful, so no one is going to get anywhere with it. It still sucks a lot, though.

I'm asking for a temporary license when I go on Monday. Otherwise, I won't exist for several weeks.

Go to Social Security too, and get a new card just in case. Also think about putting a block on your credit report. That way they have to call you if anyone tries to do anything with your social. Identity theft can be more than just using your credit. And they can make things a lot worse than just having bad credit.

(\And, I don't know what your score is, but some people think they have awful credit but it's still good enough to get other things).

I'm definitely doing that Monday. I do believe there is already a flag on my credit report since I've had a problem with identity theft in the past. I should call and check Monday, though.

Yea, my credit is pretty much bottom of the barrel. I know my score and it isn't pretty.
