Lush!

I know I posted the other day about my pilgrimage to the Lush store in Harvard, so I figured it's time for me to review what I've used.

I know Lush has groupies like whoa, but I didn't really get it. I don't have a specific brand I'm loyal to, in skincare or make-up or anything, really. So I kind of figured that this would make just be a one time thing since I was in Cambridge anyway. After using the products, though, I can see why people tend to be so fanatic about it!

Steven and I bought two bath ballistics (Black Pearl and Champagne Supernova), two solid shampoos (Soak & Float and Godiva), Jungle conditioner, and I received a sample of Angels on Bare Skin.

Godiva This is the shampoo I've been using. It smells amazing, like gardenia and ylang ylang. I've been just rubbing it in my hands two or three times to get a lather and that's enough to wash my hair with. After the first wash, I noticed my hair felt softer and lighter. The scent lingers very nicely, too.

Soak & Float I haven't personally used this, but Steven has been. It does smell kind of like woodsmoke and fires, which isn't something that bothers me, but might bother other people. Steven has a very dry scalp and this seems to have reduced his flaking and itching a lot. He was touching his hair after using it too. It is a little overpowering. I can smell it through our whole upstairs.

Jungle I've just been rubbing this over my hairs, mostly on the ends. The smells is kind of outdoorsy and it lingers a lot more than even the Godiva. My hair seems pretty soft. I haven't noticed any real difference with liquid conditioner, other than I'm using a hell of a lot less. I used a little on my ends last night when I took a bath and didn't need to put product or anything on it to keep it from frizzing.

Angels on Bare Skin I really don't like the smell of this. It's supposed to smell kind of like lavendar, but it seems more like caraway seeds and cut grass to me. However, it's pretty much awesome on my face. The first day I used it, I had no dry spots and no greasies. Same with the second day. I'm sold. It's cheaper than my other face wash and works better, even if it kind of stinks. I'm heading back Tuesday to get more of it.

Black Pearl I used half of this in a bath last night. It fizzed like a science fair volcano when I dropped it in, much to my delight. There was also a little slip of paper, like a fortune tucked inside, which amused me to no end. The water was kind of blackish purple and had a fair amount of very fine silver glitter. The water did feel softer and I really enjoyed soaking. I could smell the scent off my skin after I got out and still had a little bit of glitter on me. When I got up this morning, I could still smell it faintly.

No one's used Champagne Supernova yet.

So yea, I'm sold.

Dood, Angels is the BEST face scrub ever. It seriously does magic things to skin! Just don't buy too much of it at one time, it works better to have new batches regularly instead of a big ole pot that loses its potency.

Being London-based, I am 10000000% a Lush gal. My fave products are the Butterball & Honey Bee ballistics, Figs & Leaves soap, Demon in the Dark soap, Rock Star soap and Smitten hand cream (like marzipan for the hands!!) Also Whoosh shower jelly is great!

Be careful if you use the Big Blue ballistic - it looks really cool (super BRIGHT BLUE) but it almost stained our bath!

In fact, your post has reminded me that I am out of ballistics...

I really need to get to the mall that has a LUSH store. Too bad it is so frakking far away. Not worth taking the bus. About 30 minutesor so by car, on the interstate, headed toward the theme parks. And tourists. Eck.

I've never even heard of LUSH, because I live under a rock (?), but what was your fizzie fortune? I hope it was actually a fortune and not just some paper, because that would make me buy it. :-D

I was definitely thinking about buying a small container of Angels. Not that it will last long since Steven uses it too!

I think I may ask about soap samples. I almost never use soap because I'm allergic to basically everything. The soaps smelt wonderful, though, and I was very, very tempted. Steven's looking for a Honey Bee ballistic next trip, as well. It was his second choice after Champagne Supernova.

My bath's actually already hot pink from my hair dyeing experience! I'm not too worried about staining.

Is that the one not too far from Ocala? I can't remember the name of it, but it used to have a crazy fountain.

It does kind of smell, just to warn you, but it's doing great things for Steven's head. I'll try to send one out to you after school starts if you'd like one. I'm planning a pretty big haul anyway, after a couple paycheques and they're not too expensive.

I want to say it was something very close to "A clean soul is the first step to a clean mind". I was all kinds of excited since I didn't expect anything in this particular ballistic.

I'm not sure if there's one near you, but there are two in Boston if you get up this way.

No, Ocala is north of here on hte way to Gainesville, and this mall is south of here heading out to Tampa. It is called the Florida Mall, and not sure about crazy fountains, but there could be. The Florida Mall is quite big and I don't know my way around it well.

You are really making me regret not buying anything at the Lush store. I was just too overwhelmed and didn't have enough time to decide on anything. It smelled so good in there though.
I'm glad you like all of your purchases.

It's one of the only stores I went into, left, and came back to buy things. I kind of wanted to mull over the prices and everything. But yea, so amazing. You should definitely go when you have time to wander and poke things.

I'm going back Tuesday, sadly, to buy more things.
