I think that's why I've stopped basically going to small venue shows and most contemporary music concerts. I don't go to festivals. At least at most Alice Cooper shows, if someone touches you inappropriately, there's six other people more than willing to pound said creep.
Mass is absolutely getting the same way. This upcoming generation has helicopter parents who spent their whole lives teaching their hellspawn that it's their right to do whatever the hell they want. Everyone's special and no one is accountable. School has changed so much since I graduated. I dread how bad it will be when my kids are school age.
I've actually found, in the generation I'm teaching, that sometimes the girls are far more violent and willing to fight than the boys. Yes, it's awesome to be able to defend yourself, but starting a fist fight I have to break up because Susie might have once looked at your skinny ass, loser boyfriend is just not ok.
When I spawn, Cat, I promise you I will raise my kids with goddamn manners. They will say please and thank you, respect people who deserve it, and write lovely notes in actual writing, not l33t speek or whatever passes for english these days.
