We went for our first counseling appointment last night. It went really well, despite the initial screw-up. They somehow "lost" our appointment and were trying to reschedule, but they had all these day appointments. We lucked out, actually, because there was a therapist who had a free hour and took us.

We both agreed that we liked her and would like to go back to her, except for one little issue... She made a presumption that we weren't a particularly serious relationship. Kind of that serial monagamy thing, where we're just living together because we want to share bills and generally like sex with each other. It almost seemed like she was giving us an expiration date.

We got into talking about it after and ended up really getting into future plans.  (I've been deliberating over writing this for about 10 minutes now and it doesn't get any wierder.)

I'm getting married.

Ooh, still feels wierd. We're definitely not planning on announcing it in a big song and dance. More just, you know, when someone asks, yes we are, but not for a couple years, probably after I graduate from college. We're definitely doing the legal end of it in Vegas and we both agreed that jumpsuited/Old Elvis is who we want doing the deed. We are going to have a ceremony here, probably a couple months later. I would like to do a winter wedding, but we haven't really gotten that far. All that's definite is that we aren't going to do it in May since that's when he was married the first time. That's part of the reason I want to do winter.. Less association. I don't know, we aren't setting a date anytime soon.

My toes are cold.

One amusing little tidbit... When we were talking about it, I told him the one thing that meant a lot to me was that he would as my grandparents' permission. Turns out he was actually planning on asking my grandfather the next time we were down there. Makes sense, because Grampa already refers to me as his wife ^_^

We're not telling his parents, yet, because they will be pissed beyond words. His mother absolutely hates me. They haven't gotten over him moving in, let alone the idea of him marrying me. We still haven't decided if we're having them for Thanksgiving or not yet. Depends on if his mother is going to be a huge bitch to me or not.

As an additional sidenote, I have forbade Steven to refer to me as his fiancée or used the word engaged. I somehow don't think there'll be a problem there. He wasn't to keen on the words, either. They always make me think of money and car parts.
