Since school blocks LJ, I just wanted everyone to know that Mum had her (hopefully) final surgery today and it went fine. As of 1pm, she was in recovery and Steven and I are going to go see her tonight.

Ingredients:
1 can (approx. 1 cup and 1/4) pumpkin or squash puree
1/2c evaporated milk
1t ginger
1t nutmeg
1t cinnamon
1t salt
1/2c sugar
3 egg yolks
1 envelope of Knox unflavoured gelatin dissolved in 1/4c cold water
3 egg whites

Cook pumpkin puree, spices, salt, and egg yolks over a double boiler until smooth and thick. Add gelatin and let cool. Beat egg whites till they form stiff peaks with sugar. Fold into puree and pour into a cooked pie shell. Set at least three hours, preferably overnight.

Definitely a family favourite here, as well as easy to make. I made 5 last holiday season.

Not really, but I don't think anyone reads those things anyhow. I am so achy today. We're not even supposed to have more stupid rain tomorrow, so I don't even know why. School was good today and my classes were a lot more motivated today, which was cool. I think I learned my lesson. I had tea this morning and I felt way better today than I did yesterday. All I did today was eat, probably because all I ate yesterday was gummy bears. At least I didn't barf those up.

I bought the most amazing smelling lotion at Bath & Body this week-end. Oh my god, their Festive Pomegranate smells so festive. I want to make lotiony babies with it. I've been putting it on before I go to bed, so my sheets smell all crisp and festive. This is good, since I totally lost track of time. I was talking to Cheryl after school when she mentioned next week is a short week and I did a HolyShit!Thanksgiving. I haven't even ordered our turkey. I should do that tonight or tomorrow. And, er, plan my menu. Ha. I'll be cooking all Wednesday next week, since I have it off and Steven's got a half day.

I was a bad girl on the way home. I could have gone straight home, but I was seduced by the lure of the liquor store. It was a fact finding mission, really. I want to find a good bottle of 2002 vintage for the wedding (suggestions welcome). Then I saw a bottle of eiswein for a good price, so I had to buy that. After that, I decided to get a bottle of carmenere to bribe Steven with. Then I bought a Payday, which was totally my lunch... a glorious last hurrah for my bachelorette days.

I've pretty much been home since. Last night was ...interesting... Someone was pounding on my door at 1:30, so I got very little sleep.

Oh, and paid members get an extra week for the black out. Mine now expires on my wedding day. I win.

So I'm talking to Steven about if he missed me yesterday. He said he did, so I think asked if it was cold and there were wolves. It took him a minute, but he responded "Well, actually, there was a coydog that ran right by him, all lab friendly, except for the coyote gait." I win. He missed me, it was cold, and there were, indeed, so variety of wolves.
