Go us!

Yet another productive day. We've upped our wedding party numbers: 5 of the 6 have been asked and said yes. The only person Steven hasn't asked yet is his brother and that's because we are not telling his parents yet. They will not take the news well, not to mention the longer I can go without their meddling, the better.

We finished the first version of the guest list-- 140 people! That is not including kids or"& guests", because our list would be up over 300 people. I'm guessing the not inviting of children will knock out quite of few people. To be honest, there are at least 5 of my relatives I am only inviting out of obligation. I haven't seen them in 10 years, not have they spoken to me since my parents' divorce.

Oh, fashion issue. Two of Steven's three groomsmen are military. Alex, the best man, is a captain in the Army and Mark is a corporal or a sergeant in the Marine Corps. Mike is not in the army all all. Neither is Steven. Would it look wierd for Alex and Mark to wear their dress blues while Steven and Mike are in tuxes? I mean, we could do tux, dress blues, tux, dress blues. Would this detract from the whole thingie? Maybe it's self-centred, but I want the focus to be on us. Plus, I'm wierd about symmetry. I don't want to look at my wedding pictures and want to photoshop them. I could do the every other one deal if this is something that means a lot to Steven. Any opinions?

What else did we do today? I think we may have a date. I want to run it by my grandparents first, since it is their wedding anniversary, as well as my sister, since it's also my nephew's birthday. But, if there are no objections, our wedding will be Friday, December 29th., 2006.

Yes, Friday. We are poor and it's cheaper than a Saturday night. It's going to be an evening wedding and most of our guests are local, anyhow. The ones that are traveling are coming in for a long ass distance, anyhow, so they'd probably have to come in a few days early anyhow.

I'm going to start looking at prices for halls soon. I know I have time, but we need to do this as budget concious as possible. As my mom said, she doesn't have any money saved for this. We should be able to save a lot of money by doing things ourselves. Mom and I (probably Laura, because I love her a lot) will be doing flowers. I'm guessing all of us will make centrepieces and Mom offered to make our invitations. I'm kind of looking for an all inclusive place to maybe save money on. Lombardo's is Randolph came up since they offer EVERYTHING... I just need to figure out how much. We kind of have our heart set up UMass's new conference room that overlooks the city, but it's sooooo expensive.

Yep, and we still have to talk to my father and see if he a) wants to donate money and b) see if he'll help us build our chuppah. Oh, and Steven promised to take me to look at shiny things to get an idea of what I want when we upgrade from my current engagement ring, as well as so he can get an idea of what he wants for a wedding band. I alread know what I want. I'm lame. I want a 2mm plain platinum band. Maybe some filigree, but nothing big. I like slim rings.

I have a tummy ache and had incredibly good sex tonight.

If anyone's sick of these flurries of weddingness, I can create a filter to leave you out of the loop, if you'd like.

Oh, and Laura, do you want to hit another bridal shop some week-end with me? Joy said there's one where she got her dress that was really inexpensive. Are you in?
