V-A-C-A-T-I-O-N
Dec. 23rd, 2004 12:13 pmAnd what have I done for my first official day of vacation? Housework. I just finished vacuuming because I couldn't stand all the sandy, gritty crap that's gotten tracked in from the last couple of days. That and I wanted to get up the pine needles from our wreath that I had put together last night. I also mopped the kitchen floor. I kind of wish we also had a broom and a pan. I think that will be one of the things that we buy after Christmas.
Later, I am going to probably put away the rest of my laundry and touch up my hair before the holidays. I also need to call my grandmother and find out if she wants rolls still, even though they won't be as fresh as they were for Thanksgiving. I shall have lots of time today to do this happiness, because Steven is going to do his Christmas shopping after school. Sucker. I was at the mall yesterday with Laura and it was a zoo! I don't intend to go to the mall again until it's time for after-Christmas sales.
Mom dropped off an assload of presents for us yesterday. I've finally arranged them under the tree. She and Bruce bought the kid an assload of stuff, so when he's here next week-end, it'll be like Christmas, Part II.
My feet are hot. It's practically 60° outside, so I have the door open and I turned down the heat in here. Since Monday, we have had a 50-odd change in temperature. I love New England.
Anyhow... We might go out with Beth and Rich tonight. They had mentioned that Sunday, which means I should probably email Beth before I lay down and do nothing.
