Belly Dancing
Mar. 8th, 2004 01:50 pmI don't know what I did, but I feel like I was punched in the jaw. The whole left side of my face is swollen. I positively cannot think of how I managed to do this. All I know is that is hurts like a bastard. Not fun.
So, yea. Another week-end is over. We actually managed to go out every day over the week-end and get absolutely no cleaning/packing/etc. done. We went out to Borders with Joy Friday night and stayed out late. Saturday was the Day-O-Birthday Parties. We went to Haille's in the morning, where I took a load of pictures (50, to be exact). It was a pretty average kid's party.
Saturday night we went to Sam's party at the Karoun Restaurant in Newton. It's, evidently, Armenian food, though it seemed standard run of the mill Middle Eastern to me. If you're planning on going, be forewarned that the food is decent, but very, very over-priced. My broiled salmon was good, but certainly not $19.50 good. The turkish coffee I had, however, was excellent.
What made the priciness well worth it was the belly dancer that performed. She danced for the better part of an hour and a half and was absolutely fantastic. I would probably go back for drinks and appetizers just to see the belly dancing. I cannot begin to express how impressed I was.
Her name was Malina, I believe.
They had a good live band and dancing after, which we (gasp) partook in. Steven was actually the initiating party, since I was under the impression that he did not, in any way, shape, or form, dance. We did not actually roll out of there until about midnight.
Sam looked like she was having a good time. We were joking that not only had we sat next to each other, but we ultimately ordered the same thing. It was a confusion-free night, all in all.
We went to Rhode Island Sunday to see my grandparents, who were well. We ended up staying there until almost 4:30. My grandfather fixed our donated lamp, while we were there and gave Steven a piece of wood for El Kiddo's train set. Twas all good.
We finally moved the TVs around last night, too. Hooray! Now we have surround sound in the bedroom. Yay!
I need to get some socks on and get going. I anticipate the roads will suck since it's still snowing.
