Spare Time!? Bah!
Feb. 4th, 2002 12:15 amI think I promised that I would have all kinds of time to update when school started. You know, I'd be working less hours and taking a nice, easy semester. I would work more on DevilGrrl.Com and keep my journal nice and current.
Well, I lied. I have no spare time and my life is infinitely more complex than before.
My classes, except for sociology, are really good. I'm not constantly thinking up excuses why not to go or how to get out of doing a paper (well, exempting my Beowulf paper, but dammit, I'm not totally perfect.) The unfortunate downside is that 3 quasi-honours lit classes involve a lot of writing, which, in turn, involves a fair amount of time. Time is a comodity that I do not have.
This brings me to my second point: work, being an evil tool of the devil, decided to randomly layoff people which means that there are now only three employees and my hours have been upped. Granted, I need the money, but that's time I could be doing homework. The problem could be remedied, if I had a laptop. Unfortunately, I don't, nor does it look like I'll be getting one any time soon.
This brings me to the third point: I'm still exhausted all the time and would like to be sleeping 12 or more hours a day. Basically, I work this by sleeping at school on Tuesdays and Thursdays for an hour and a half and napping at work because we have no customers. Actually, I'm fighting sleep now. Bleh.
I did not do my Beowulf outline, but I do have my alphabet book paper finished. I've found two people to use for my final project in Children's Lit and I'm pretty certain that I know what I want to do for my research paper in English Lit. My financial aid scare is done (yay!) and creative writing should be a breeze.
I still have no dress for the wedding I'm going to in a couple weeks. Dammit.
My nephew is doing very well. I want to see him again, dammit. I need more money and new clothes again.
And now, I'm going to bed.
