*does the approved for credit dance* I got approved for another card with less than half the interest rate on my Capital One card! Yay!! I made my first big payment on the Capital One, too. I'm so squee about building credit.

I am such a dork about people being fiscally responsible. I almost hugged a college boy for coming in to the bank today to open a college card, as he said, "with a low limit, you know, just so I can put a little on it and pay it off in full every month." this is in stark contrast to the usual "why the hell did I get charged $100 in overdraft fees?!"
That's awesome to see a college kid that responsible. It's scary how much debt people are graduating from college with. Steven and I are both trying to hard to rebuild our credit so we can buy a house in the next couple years.
I get so upset about my credit. While my ex and I were dating, he used my credit cards indescriminantly, as well as opened several in my name that I didn't know about until after we had broken up. I spent several years trying to get things expunged, but there were a few companies who essentially said too bad what happened, but I'd still have to pay the debt. Luckily, it's been 7 years and they're not on the forefront of my credit report anymore.
