As promised!

Nautical Stars
Nautical stars on my lower back

Violet
Violet on my hip

Tattoo on my neck
My first, the kanji for dragon

I am willing to entertain any questions regarding them.

They look great. Was it hard for you to decide what to get and where to get them? How bad did they hurt?

[identity profile] devilgrrl.livejournal.com 2006-07-25 11:55 pm (UTC)(link)
The first one was on a whim, which I don't recommend doing. The violet and the stars I've been thinking about for the last 5 or so years. As for where, I like how tattoos look on the lower back, and the stars fit well, there.

They didn't hurt too bad, actually. My sunburn a few weeks ago was a lot more painful.

the stars are fabulous! i think they suit you very well.

Thanks! I love how they look, even if they are hitting the crusty phase.

ooo000ooooo

[identity profile] devilgrrl.livejournal.com 2006-07-25 11:58 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm sooooo happy with them. I wish the pictures had come out a bit more clear, though.

[identity profile] sarakenobi.livejournal.com 2006-07-25 11:59 pm (UTC)(link)
understandable. they look great though!

[identity profile] sweetestrose.livejournal.com 2006-07-26 01:57 am (UTC)(link)
I love them! They turned out great!

I'm so incredibly squee over them. I can't wait till they stop the scabby stage, though.

[identity profile] skibalovesya.livejournal.com 2006-07-26 01:59 am (UTC)(link)
Ryuu. ^_^ (That is how the kanji reads.)

[identity profile] devilgrrl.livejournal.com 2006-07-26 02:08 am (UTC)(link)
Indeed, it is. Dragon. I once had a really nice asian gentleman strike up a conversation with me when he read the back of my neck in Borders. I was just happy to know that it said what it was intended to and not "Stupid white girl" or something.

[identity profile] skibalovesya.livejournal.com 2006-07-26 02:31 am (UTC)(link)
Like those people who wear shirts with Japanese on them that end up saying like, "baka" or "my brain is made of kuso" on them? XD;;; When I bought my Kuroneko-sama shirt, I made sure to open up my kanji dictionary and make sure that's what it said. But I recognized the kanji for neko. =3

[identity profile] devilgrrl.livejournal.com 2006-07-28 02:58 am (UTC)(link)
Oh, no kidding. It's like the inverse of Engrish signs.

I also recognized that kanji for dragon when I picked it out, only because it kind of looks like a dragon (at least to me).

Nice tattoos!

[identity profile] devilgrrl.livejournal.com 2006-07-28 02:58 am (UTC)(link)
Thank you!

Gorgeous! I absolutely love 'em, and still have incredible praise for you at being brave enough to get them. I am such a wuss.

[identity profile] devilgrrl.livejournal.com 2006-07-26 10:12 pm (UTC)(link)
They weren't as painful as I expected. I'm the hugest pain and needle wuss ever. I'm amazed that I didn't pass out or something.

The one on your neck

[identity profile] sheevapanther.livejournal.com 2006-07-26 04:46 pm (UTC)(link)
Did it hurt? I want a paw print on the back of my neck, but I'm told it is very painfull.

My Hamster, Thor (the mighty) is actually named after The Norse god Thor. :)

He's rilly cute. :) If I lived in NY, I would so adopt a hamster from you. I think it's awesome what you're doing. I've adopted hamsters from "freecycle" before when people put them up.

It actually was the least painful of all 4 of them. I'd compare the pain to someone poking you fairly hard with a fingernail. I only made a face once or twice with my stars.

[identity profile] pinkdamselfly.livejournal.com 2006-07-26 04:48 pm (UTC)(link)
wow, I thought you had gotten a scene from a movie tattooed across your back or something with the way you said your fiance was on about them. :) I like them :) Congratulations.

Why did you pick what you picked?

[identity profile] devilgrrl.livejournal.com 2006-07-26 10:15 pm (UTC)(link)
The violet is a tattoo my mom and I share. It's my favourite flower and she drew it. The stars are to remind me to follow my heart and be true to myself (kind of like having the North Star on my all the time) and also as a nod to my heritage (family is full of ship's captains). The kanji was spur of the moment, but my mom and my stepson are year of the dragon, and dragons are one of my favourite mythical beasts.
