NYC in photos
Too tired for a real post, but yay photos:

My friend Nicki, the beautiful bride

The church and receiving line.

Steven, Nicki, and me. And when did Nicki and I start looking like family?

Our table: the Table of Awesome

Steven and I. I clean up nice.

The Empire State Building. I refused to pay $19 to go to the top.

Ghost bike. Steven tells me these are all over the city.

The spinny Juan Valdez cup in Times Square

New Year's Eve stuff IN AUGUST!

Times Square

More Times Square

Grand Central

We look so tired.

Koenig's Globe from WTC Plaza, now in Battery Park.

The plaque in front of it.

The damage in the back.

Lady Liberty. Another thing I would not pay to see up close.

I was going to mention that you and your friend Nicki looked a whole lot alike, but you seemed to notice that already. I would have mistaken you two for sisters.
And Wow to the damage on the Globe. :(

I actually found seeing the globe quite humbling. This was the first time I'd ever been to NYC so I had no concept, really, of the WTCs or the scale. We walked past the footprints and, until I saw the globe, I couldn't wrap my head around the whole concept of it. The damage was unreal.

Don't buy into the hype. There was tonnes of effort involved in cleaning up that well: dress and shoes picked out by my mum and Steven insisting I blend my make-up better.

i use to work on the 40th floor. the ONLY good thing was going up there for free every day.
Also good was having the tour guide license when i got into everything for free. those days are long gone :(
i was wondering where Koenig's Globe was now - thanks1

Koenig's Globe is right in the front of Battery Park, heading back to the Staten Island Ferry. I guess it's been there for a while?
Thanks :) I had a lot more fun than I expected.

Upstate NY is fun, too, though. We used to go to Lake George a lot when I was a kid.

My friend went to college in Syracuse and I went to visit her there once and we drove up to Montreal as well.
