Ouch

Well. I'm pretty sure I don't like The Blonde. [personal profile] plunkybug, I think you're right. My hair is a lot drier since I started using it. It's not touching the colour, obviously since you can't bleach out bleach, but my hair does seem a lot crappier. Back to Shine for me and the sample of Blonde to my mum. I am loving Demon in the Dark soap, though. It smells pretty damn good. I'm still loving Sweet Japanese Girl, too. It seems to fit pretty well with my lack of use of a moisturizer.

I pulled a muscle in my shoulder today coughing and it HURTS. I am so all done with this. I'm also way over the Prednisone. I woke up still buzzing this morning and I still feel it now, even though I'm really tired. My house is a wreck, too, and it's driving me insane because I can't clean it. I tried to clean up the couch a little and it was not a good scene. Steven made me extra rice for lunch tomorrow, at least, if I can get to the microwave.

I think I might break up with Battlestar for the first time this season because of the motherfrakking TBC tonight. I want to know what happens and I don't want to wait a week *whinge*

Is it me or is Tory coming awfully close to mimicking Six's lines from earlier in the show? She really seems to be like another version of Six. Interesting take. Also: Tory doesn't seem to own bras or underwear either. LIKE SIX.

Ship o' Doom sure was interesting this week. I thought she and Athena were friends, but Jesus... She really is sowing insurrection amongst the crew. I don't like what they've done with Helo either. He's awfully wishy-washy and if he doesn't want to do what Starbuck wants, why volunteer. Anders, at least, seems to believe in the mission of doom. It figures the episode really heated up right before the end. I'd really like to know how she's getting to the basestar with the whole mutiny bit going on. I'm guessing Anders, but I don't know. Why do I have to wait a week?

Who the hell is this Pike guy? I hate when they drop in new characters. Plus wen they say Pike, my brain keeps going between the fish and the character in the godawful Buffy the Vampire Slayer movie. I am also sad about Gunny. I liked Gunny a lot.

I am 110% done with the Baltar story line. It's pointless, irritating, and kind of offensive. Yes, I get the set up. It's still stupid. No further comment on it.

Except that I will comment to say I liked the Chief better with hair.

At least next week looks good. 5 more eps in this half!

Tomorrow looks like more couching here and working on photos again. Hopefully, I can get through a few more, but my comp has been lagging a little. Some of them are pretty awesome though. Worse comes to worse, I'll clean out my thumb drive and work on them at school Monday and Tuesday, since I am Le Art Department.

I finally got it together and downloaded the new Nick Cave. I like it; not as much as some of his other stuff, but it's good. I listened to it twice today and burnt Steven a copy. Since I haven't listened to Grinderman, I can't say how much it's like that (as the review said), but it's definitely much quicker paced.

Time for my next round of drugs. Wee.

I was kind of pissed at last nights episodes. It's the last season! There aren't many episodes left! Why waste time on something that really didn't move the story line much? Really, it could have been covered in five or ten minutes.

[identity profile] devilgrrl.livejournal.com 2008-05-03 04:51 pm (UTC)(link)
Agreed. I know they're stretching things out, but the constant shock endings are starting to piss me off a lot. That said, at least we're getting the full 20 eps and not 10 like they were originally thinking.

I will say that the editing together of the story lines was visually pretty neat, even if they're irking me.

[identity profile] ladyluna.livejournal.com 2008-05-03 04:56 pm (UTC)(link)
yeah, it's always pretty. The acting was really great too...but I'm just ready for stuff to be going down on a larger scale I guess.

[identity profile] devilgrrl.livejournal.com 2008-05-03 05:03 pm (UTC)(link)
I definitely am, too. It's moving very slow for Battlestar. I can say this with faith since Steven and I embarked on a rewatch recently. I'm also not too thrilled with the recent character changes, like Roslin and Athena. I hope they're going to justify it later on.

I really hope we get some payoff next week. Fans cannot live by great acting alone.

[identity profile] ladyluna.livejournal.com 2008-05-03 05:15 pm (UTC)(link)
Very true. Athena was really getting me. Um, hello..they're married! And where's the oh so important kid? Not even a mention of who they left her with? It just bothered me. But yeah, next week will hopefully get things rolling.

[identity profile] devilgrrl.livejournal.com 2008-05-03 05:21 pm (UTC)(link)
Maybe they left her with Cylon Uncle Tigh? He *does* change diapers...

I was really annoyed by Athena's turning on Starbuck. They were supposed to have been friends when she was Boomer and Starbuck pretty much was the first to accept her current copy. Now she can't have a little faith? And Helo, pistol whipping aside, what kind of best friend is he right now?

[identity profile] ladyluna.livejournal.com 2008-05-03 05:29 pm (UTC)(link)
That's true. I was so pissed at Helo as well! I kept thinking, wow..great...he's standing up for her...that is great...then he turns at the last second? I'm not saying whether she deserved it or not, but I just was so upset about it. Oh well, not being happy with one of the last five isn't bad I guess. It was bound to happen.

[identity profile] devilgrrl.livejournal.com 2008-05-03 05:34 pm (UTC)(link)
And it totally looked like he turned because of Athena's constant nagging and pushing. I expected that from Gaeta, but not Helo.

I can see why; she isn't acting like a paragon of sanity, but still. Have some faith.

At least Sam is starting to restore himself a little in my eyes.

[identity profile] ladyluna.livejournal.com 2008-05-03 05:41 pm (UTC)(link)
Very true. Sometimes I'd wish he'd just get over her, but he does act in some ways like a husband should. My husband would stand up for me even if he didn't agree. It's just what you do. And I know Athena has become I guess as anti-cylon as you can AS a cylon, but you'd think she'd at least be a little concerned about the possibility of the war.

[identity profile] devilgrrl.livejournal.com 2008-05-03 05:46 pm (UTC)(link)
I haven't like Sam much since they brought him back from Caprica. He seemed way too much like a plot device and there just wasn't much chemistry there. Not to mention he never, ever calls Starbuck on her shit. I actually think making him a cylon was a decent choice; it gives the character a little more depth.

You'd think Athena would be able to tell if Leoben was lying or not, being a cylon and obviously be familiar with the models. I guess she doesn't care about all the models being wiped out, though.

I will have to say, I think Leoben knows that Sam is a cylon.

[identity profile] ladyluna.livejournal.com 2008-05-03 06:15 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, I read televisionwithoutpity's message boards. People there think either Leoben knows, or is just being Leoben.

I kind of like it when Sam kicks ass though.

Yeah, Athena has much more potential then what they're doing with her. It's frustrating. And when is Hera going to be the big deal they tried to make her out to be?

I guess though, we can nitpick a lot of things,it's still just a neat show.

[identity profile] devilgrrl.livejournal.com 2008-05-03 06:21 pm (UTC)(link)
Athena's anger definitely reminds me of Boomer's one dimensional anger last season. The character does have a lot more potential and it seems like the writers just forgot that.

Oh, definitely. For all the griping I do about it, it's still probably the best show on television.

[identity profile] ladyluna.livejournal.com 2008-05-03 10:05 pm (UTC)(link)
It is. Sorry, ran off to the fish store. We're setting up a salt water tank. I got an urchin and two corals today!

Yeah, Grace is a good actor, and could do what they threw at her. Oh well, here's hoping it all goes better the rest of the season.

[identity profile] devilgrrl.livejournal.com 2008-05-04 01:50 am (UTC)(link)
Salt water tanks are awesome! I had one as a kid. I loved it. Good luck!

I have faith it will. Sometimes it takes a little set-up to get into the swing of things. Not everything can start out like Season 3.

[identity profile] sarakenobi.livejournal.com 2008-05-03 09:24 pm (UTC)(link)
i LOVE GODIVA shampoo the most, but i DONT like how it sort of crumbles and disappears half way through. I love NEW! too! I'm still working through a bar of alkamaar. hav eyou tried the jungle whatever conditioner? I use Angels on Bare Skin for morning face and then fresh farm at night before bed.
i <3 luch

[identity profile] ladyluna.livejournal.com 2008-05-03 10:07 pm (UTC)(link)
See, I can't use all that fancy stuff. Right now I've been using Nioxxin. Darn my strangely thin (I use to have really thick hair) hair and my dry scalp. Although it does have a nice minty smell.

[identity profile] sarakenobi.livejournal.com 2008-05-03 10:30 pm (UTC)(link)
NEW! made my hair thicker i swear. it encourages hair growth!

[identity profile] ladyluna.livejournal.com 2008-05-03 10:38 pm (UTC)(link)
I may look into it then. It's so frustrating. I was on meds for a while and they just killed my hair. The biggest thing is the itchy scalp though. It's just dry, not dandruff, so it's hard to treat. Nioxxin has been the only thing I've found that nourishes it and doesn't OVER moisturize my hair, if that makes sense.

[identity profile] sarakenobi.livejournal.com 2008-05-03 11:04 pm (UTC)(link)
my meds made my hair fall out too :(

they have this other shampoo I liked to use, called "soak and float" that smells like a campfire but it really soothed my head when it was ichy!

[identity profile] ladyluna.livejournal.com 2008-05-03 11:05 pm (UTC)(link)
Hm...not sure if I could handle the smell to be quite honest. Stupid dry skin.

[identity profile] sarakenobi.livejournal.com 2008-05-03 11:34 pm (UTC)(link)
it doesn't smell so strong after you use it (and keep it in the air) , and the scent definitely doesn't stick.

[identity profile] devilgrrl.livejournal.com 2008-05-04 01:54 am (UTC)(link)
I second that. We have it in my shower and I never notice it. Honestly, though, I'm the rare person who really likes the smell of Soak & Float.

[identity profile] devilgrrl.livejournal.com 2008-05-04 01:53 am (UTC)(link)
Steven uses Jungle all the time. I get a rash from it and Godiva because I win, but he LOVES it. My mum really likes Jungle too and she has fine, wavy hair.

I didn't do very well with AOBS because I'm cleanser impaired. I love FF except when it starts to dry out and I have to scrape it down.

Yay Lush!!

[identity profile] sarakenobi.livejournal.com 2008-05-04 02:05 am (UTC)(link)
i found that if I leave my FF in a slightly damp environment it does way better.

[identity profile] devilgrrl.livejournal.com 2008-05-04 02:15 am (UTC)(link)
I keep mine in the shower stall and it's good most of the time, but I do still have to scrape it now and then.

[identity profile] plunkybug.livejournal.com 2008-05-03 10:56 pm (UTC)(link)
I am ok with Godiva but the smell is strong. I am getting used to the smell though. I am going to try Hybrid next. I want a no/low SLS shampoo and right now The Blonde and Trichomania have SLS in them. The Blode is ok when I use it after H'Suan Wen Hua.

I still prefer Angels, but I was ok with Herbalism and Extra Virgin Olive Oil soap which I think I liked better on my face than Herbalism. Herbalism is probably going to be good for the really greasy moments though, just not daily use.

TTYL

[identity profile] sarakenobi.livejournal.com 2008-05-03 11:35 pm (UTC)(link)
i thought hybrid made my hair feel lanky and unclean but my husband loves it.

does your godiva fall apart too?

[identity profile] plunkybug.livejournal.com 2008-05-04 01:17 am (UTC)(link)
Not yet but I have only had mine a month or so. Maybe less. It actually still won't fit in the tin because of a large chunk of cocoa butter sticking out from one side.

[identity profile] sarakenobi.livejournal.com 2008-05-04 01:45 am (UTC)(link)
the cocoa butter is so annoying because i think it just sort of overtakes the rest of it, so my hair doesn't feel as clean

[identity profile] plunkybug.livejournal.com 2008-05-04 01:58 am (UTC)(link)
I am having a hard time finding a solid I really like. But I am trying because I like the concept. My hair is also a lot frizzier. It is probably due to the lack of silicones...I feel tempted to go back to what I was using before.

[identity profile] sarakenobi.livejournal.com 2008-05-04 02:05 am (UTC)(link)
check out the jungle conditioner, it makes my frizz calm down

[identity profile] plunkybug.livejournal.com 2008-05-04 02:23 am (UTC)(link)
I have jungle and it doesn't do much. I also have retread, american cream and veganese (which I love the smell of but its not all that moisturizing for me).
