Mm, Recap
Woot, LJ seems to have fixed the Rich Text/Firefox upgrade issue. That said...
I've officially peed myself because BSG is back on. All week, I've been speculating, squeeing, and being generally antsy. We rewatched all of Season 3 last week-end and I was surprised that it didn't suck as much as I remembered. It still wasn't as awesome as, say, Season 1, but it was good and I had missed a lot of things.
It was interesting. I very much enjoyed the dynamic and it was quite quickly paced. I definitely expected the TBC. I called it literally as she was raising the gun. So back to waiting on bated breath for next week.
I love that Lee is already sticking up for Starbuck. Doesn't matter who or what she is; she's alive. I love how when everyone else is standing and staring, he's barreling through the crowd and catches her so hard he lifts her up. And she lets him, even though she has no idea why he's so happy to see her, but when it's Stupid Anders, she shunts him right off.
I am not overly thrilled about Roslin. I understand the threat and I get why she's doing it, but honestly, her complete refusal to listen to anything except what she feels puts me off. She struck me as becoming more fanatic and I wonder what side she's going to be on and where she'll fall. Interesting, too, that while she's perfectly ok with Adama following her hallucinations and hunches, she doesn't want to even consider Kara's.
Seems like they're setting Caprica up as the chosen one. She's seen the faces of the Final Five, but doesn't want to tell Roslin or can't. I'm guessing that will play in later.
The Baltar scene was a nice foil. I'm sure it will play in later, but the comedic edge was a nice touch. Of course, after finding out he's practically the second coming of Christ in some creepy cult that looks like it's hidden in a college dorm, all he can think about is getting laid by what is probably an underage girl. That's my Baltar, right there. <3 James Callis and his facial expressions. God = Boobies.
I would like to know what the actual dialogue of the Lee/Kara fresh out the Vipers was. I missed what he said and all I heard from here was "I (something) you too. It's ok." I couldn't catch it again in the recap either. I'm sure someone will have though, preferably someone with better hearing than me. I'd also like to know who she was kissing in the preview for next week, but I can probably hit YouTube up for that tomorrow.
Finally, it's nice to know she won't be the final cylon. It would have been too easy for a show that really seems to take the hard route a lot. So, unless RDM is fucking with all of us, the main suspects (Kara, Lee, Adama, Roslin, and Baltar) will not be it. [Ref: Spoilery Article] Obviously, Anders, Tigh, Tory, and Chief already are. My guess is it might be Zarek or Lampkin. It should be interesting.
Further spec: I think Kara is indeed right about Earth and I think she is the saviour. There seems to be a lot of allusions to Christ, right down to the Last Supper picture from EW, and it would make sense for her to be betrayed and reviled. Like it's been wanked over a million times, the words harbinger and apocalypse have more than one meaning and it's not exactly bad.
I'd also like to see a resolution to the Lee/Kara thing, now that he's divorced, she's been dead and is obviously not going to be very thrilled at the prospect of a cylon husband, and especially now that Lee will not be in her chain of command, so no frat regs, either. They deserve a Mulder and Scully ending. Romo's little speech gives me a bit of hope, as well as the promo shots, but perhaps that's just the little bit of hopeless romantic in me.
What did you guys think? I know a few of you on my flist watch it.
