Belated Anniversary Post

The first half of the day was horrendous, but I'm not writing about that here. We left from my grandfather's, after plying the cat with new toys and giving him his Christmas/anniversary pressie (will take a photo next time we're there) and I came home to take a much needed nap.
When I came back, Steven had a dozen gypsy curiousa roses waiting for me as well as a bottle of POP! Pink champagne. I got dressed, changed my into my wedding shoes and stockings, and we headed off for Nino's in Hingham for dinner. We'd never been there before, so I was surprised how nice it was inside! We were seated by the big glass windows, overlooking the frozen quarry and the lights.
We both had a glass of the house pinot gris and salads instead of getting appetizers. I order the dry aged New York Sirloin, which was the size of my head and Steven got Tuscan marinated strip steak. Both came with baked potatoes and butternut squash with cranberries. I literally took home half my meal, so I'll be having that again tonight. I think Steven took a good part of his home, too. We both had very good tiramisu for dessert.
We came back here, danced to our wedding song and my grandparents' song, then I took some photos of the cake and champagne in the candle light because attempting our wedding cake.
...It was surprisingly good. In fact, it was actually a little tastier than last year. It looks like the made the top better than than the rest of the cake, anyway. I may even have more than one piece of cake now.

Cake, Champagne, and Candles.

Artsy shot of my champagne and toasting glass.

Also, for some reason your Steven always looks a bit like Stephen King to me.

I had a whole retrospective post I was going to do originally, but yesterday's suckage really put me off it. I originally was trying to get this up and running for yesterday too.

You guys should totally try Nino's sometime. It was pretty reasonable and the food was great. We'll definitely be going back there again.

Yea, that was like the island of okayness in a sea of shit that was the rest of the day. I seriously haven't even had the energy to post about how bad it was. I'm talking letter to the Diocese of Providence bad...

Next year, come hell or high water, we're going away. This anniversary was so incredibly hard to get through, with the funeral and whatnot.
