Belated Anniversary Post

December 28, 2006
December 29, 2006

The first half of the day was horrendous, but I'm not writing about that here. We left from my grandfather's, after plying the cat with new toys and giving him his Christmas/anniversary pressie (will take a photo next time we're there) and I came home to take a much needed nap.

When I came back, Steven had a dozen gypsy curiousa roses waiting for me as well as a bottle of POP! Pink champagne. I got dressed, changed my into my wedding shoes and stockings, and we headed off for Nino's in Hingham for dinner. We'd never been there before, so I was surprised how nice it was inside! We were seated by the big glass windows, overlooking the frozen quarry and the lights.

We both had a glass of the house pinot gris and salads instead of getting appetizers. I order the dry aged New York Sirloin, which was the size of my head and Steven got Tuscan marinated strip steak. Both came with baked potatoes and butternut squash with cranberries. I literally took home half my meal, so I'll be having that again tonight. I think Steven took a good part of his home, too. We both had very good tiramisu for dessert.

We came back here, danced to our wedding song and my grandparents' song, then I took some photos of the cake and champagne in the candle light because attempting our wedding cake.

...It was surprisingly good. In fact, it was actually a little tastier than last year. It looks like the made the top better than than the rest of the cake, anyway. I may even have more than one piece of cake now.

Cake, Champagne, and Candles.

Artsy shot of my champagne and toasting glass.

Also, for some reason your Steven always looks a bit like Stephen King to me.

Congrats!!!

:)

Hope the next year will be an awesome one for both of you!

[identity profile] devilgrrl.livejournal.com 2007-12-30 11:41 pm (UTC)(link)
Thank the new camera. Holy awesome is it great!

I had a whole retrospective post I was going to do originally, but yesterday's suckage really put me off it. I originally was trying to get this up and running for yesterday too.

[identity profile] devilgrrl.livejournal.com 2007-12-30 11:41 pm (UTC)(link)
Thank you!

[identity profile] devilgrrl.livejournal.com 2007-12-30 11:42 pm (UTC)(link)
Thank you!

You guys should totally try Nino's sometime. It was pretty reasonable and the food was great. We'll definitely be going back there again.

[identity profile] devilgrrl.livejournal.com 2007-12-30 11:44 pm (UTC)(link)
Thanks :)

Yea, that was like the island of okayness in a sea of shit that was the rest of the day. I seriously haven't even had the energy to post about how bad it was. I'm talking letter to the Diocese of Providence bad...

[identity profile] devilgrrl.livejournal.com 2007-12-30 11:45 pm (UTC)(link)
Thank you, thank you! I absolutely LOVE the birdcage veil that I was wearing... So classy :)

[identity profile] devilgrrl.livejournal.com 2007-12-30 11:46 pm (UTC)(link)
Haha, I am so telling him that. When he's shaved, he usually gets Alice Cooper.

[identity profile] devilgrrl.livejournal.com 2007-12-30 11:49 pm (UTC)(link)
Thanks!

Next year, come hell or high water, we're going away. This anniversary was so incredibly hard to get through, with the funeral and whatnot.

Happy Anniversary! I love the pictures. Next anniversary will be better one :)

It was a little on the expensive side, but I think the filet mignon was the most expensive item at $18.50. Everything else was less. Dinner with drinks, salads, and dessert with tax and tip was $75.

[identity profile] devilgrrl.livejournal.com 2007-12-31 04:35 am (UTC)(link)
I'm actually seriously thinking about leaving the Church over this. I am that upset.

[identity profile] devilgrrl.livejournal.com 2007-12-31 04:36 am (UTC)(link)
He really does. I like the beard better, personally.

[identity profile] devilgrrl.livejournal.com 2007-12-31 04:37 am (UTC)(link)
I am so incredibly happy you (and Mary Anna) were there. I am seriously so happy you could officiate our wedding and so happy you're a part of my life.

[identity profile] littlestarletta.livejournal.com 2007-12-31 04:39 am (UTC)(link)
I think I do too - he looks a lot more distinctive.

[identity profile] devilgrrl.livejournal.com 2007-12-31 04:39 am (UTC)(link)
I can't believe it was seriously better than it was last year. I guess the freezing dried up the too moist cake and gooey frosting.

[identity profile] devilgrrl.livejournal.com 2007-12-31 04:41 am (UTC)(link)
I'm going to post a quick photo series of us after this, from first dating to wedding to now after this.

Yesterday was a shitty day. I'm glad our pasted on smiles look good, though.

[identity profile] devilgrrl.livejournal.com 2007-12-31 07:03 pm (UTC)(link)
I am telling him this. He keeps thinking he looks more professional shaved.

[identity profile] devilgrrl.livejournal.com 2007-12-31 07:03 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm definitely hoping that.

[identity profile] littlestarletta.livejournal.com 2007-12-31 07:05 pm (UTC)(link)
for lack of a better term/word he looks a lot "more grown up" lol

[identity profile] littlestarletta.livejournal.com 2007-12-31 07:06 pm (UTC)(link)
we just got $75 towards cheesecake factory so I think we'll be going there for a while (even though it takes like 2 hours to get a table argh - I have the cheesecake in the SSP)

[identity profile] devilgrrl.livejournal.com 2008-01-02 12:12 am (UTC)(link)
It's crazy busy there, isn't it? We have a gift card too but I think we're going to end up going for lunch or something because I am too impatient to wait that long for a table.

[identity profile] devilgrrl.livejournal.com 2008-01-02 12:13 am (UTC)(link)
One of our friends basically paraphrased this to him yesterday, which amused me to no end.

I think he has that creepy, used car salesman thing going on without the beard.

[identity profile] littlestarletta.livejournal.com 2008-01-02 12:14 am (UTC)(link)
once we went at 11pm and got seated immediately. and I agree about not waiting that long. It'd be faster to drive to the Boston/Cambridge/Brookline locations and wait there for less time. The Braintree location is insane
