Engaged (officially)!

Steven officially proposed tonight!

Some background: We decided to get married a year and a half ago. There was some discussion, we picked out a ring, and went about planning the wedding. Steven told me he'd officially propose eventually.

The Museum of Science had a Star Wars exhibit that Steven really, really wanted to see. Things kept coming up and we weren't able to get there until today, the very last day. I suggested to Steven that we really should get tickets online to make sure they weren't sold out. Turns out that tickets were available, but the Millennium Falcon was sold out. Steven was disappointed, but I suggested that he call in the morning, just in case they added shows. When I got up, he told me that he managed to get tickets for 9pm.

We headed into the city around 5ish. We had a not so great dinner at Ricardo's Ristorante in the North End. I had chicken piccata, which they made with tomato sauce. Steven had a pretty good veal scallopini marsala. We did have two excellent glasses of Insolia Cusumano. I'd get that again in a heartbeat.

After dinner, we scooted over to the T and headed to Science Park. We picked up our tickets and headed up to the exhibit. It was pretty cool. I think Steven liked it more than me, since I haven't actually seen all the movies. We took a bunch of pictures, which I'll post when we get them developed. We went through the gift shop, bought a couple things, and walked back down to where the Millennium Falcon replica was. We were the only two people standing in line, but I figured it was because it was getting kind of late.

It's important to say now that Steven has asked to borrow my ring earlier in the day. I thought it was odd, but said ok.

We're watching the show inside and Steven nudges me. I look over and he has his mini Star Wars lunchbox popped open with the ring inside. He asked me if I wanted to be his wife. I squee'd and said yes!

As we headed for the exit, several of the staffers were there taking pictures. I showed off the ring as they congratulated us. I met the woman (Emily) who had helped set this up. It turns out that there had been no 9pm show. Steven had been on the phone with them on and off all morning, setting this up. They created a special show just for Steven to be able to propose. It was an awesome night. Photos will be forthcoming.
