Fursday

Want to know what's a really bad idea when your back is hurting? A long car ride. Guess what I did today?

Steven and I went to Rhode Island to see my grandparents. I was dying by the time we got there, so I split my time between laying on the floor and standing. It was nice to see them, though. Because of my stupid back, I hadn't had much of a chance to see them since the beginning of the month. I also got my hair cut while I was there.

And as a bonus, the gorgeous red vinyl heels I got for $11. They're Miss Bisou and were marked down from $45.

I was looking for school clothes, but that was all I could find. I did buy a couple candles for the house. There's a gross cat piss smell in our bedroom from the previous residents and since I can't get down to clean it, I've been lighting candles. I can't remember which ones we bought, though.

Heather interviewed mean. You guys know the deal, leave a comment if you'd like me to do the same.

Ok. Be sure to be doped up, ok?
I'm good and doped up. Just about bedtime and I want to make sure I can sleep.

1. How did you first get interested in LUSH?
I forget who first told me about it-- maybe I saw it in a magazine-- but I loved the premise of very natural products. I get contact dermatitis from a lot of preservatives, which means I can use very few products. Plus, I'm a sucker for anything that smells great and LUSH certainly smells amazing. First time I went in, I was hooked. My hair and skin look amazing and no rashes! I've even gotten [livejournal.com profile] bosbullterrier using it.

2. Have you knitted anything lately, and if so, what?
Last thing I knitted was a blanket for [livejournal.com profile] princessbunny's little boy, which I still have to send out. My next project is going to be a bright red-orange hat and scarf set. I bought about 10 skein of that colour on clearance because it was such a great price.

>b>3. If you could get any car and drive anywhere in North America, totally and utterly free of charge and no strings attached, what car would you have and where would you go?
I would love one of Honda's new hybrids. I'm a Honda whore. I have a 94 Accord and I still get 30-35 miles to the gallon, so I can't imagine how awesome the hybrids must be. Plus, you know, enviroment and all....

As to where I would go, I would love to go to Hawaii. I love New England, but if I were going to live anywhere else, it would definitely be Hawaii. I can't imagine a more gorgeous place to drive.

4. Who is your favorite artist, and why?
I have a couple, I guess. My all around favourite is Edward Hopper, who I just saw at the MFA. He had such an amazing sense of light when he was painting houses and landscapes. You can almost smell the sea breeze and feel the warmth of the sun. His sense of colour was unreal. I also love the isolated hollowness of his women, which is such an amazing contrast from his houses.

I also love Gaugain's Tahitian works. The colours are delicious and for me, it's paradise to look at. They feel great, how bright and sundrenched they are, and that's my image of paradise. I could live in his paintings.

I also have a weakness for Degas' ballerinas and opera paintings. I saw a lot of them when I was in Paris and they're just so beautiful in person.

5. Do you like Family Guy?
I like Family Guy a lot, but I lived in Rhode Island for a while. It's A LOT funnier if you get the in jokes.

I totally dig the shoes! (And I'm getting a kick out of this interview thingy...)

Love the hair AND the shoes.

Great hair. Great shoes.

whoa those are amazing shoes

Thanks! Especially since it was an impulse to go for it. "How much do you want trimmed?" "Hmm, could you stack it for me?"

I can't get over the shoes. Steven made the face about them at first, but they were really cheap and they're cherry red. And they'll look really, really hot with my black Tripp pencil skirt.

Thanks! Yesterday was a good day for cute things.

Thank you!

Oh man, I know. I tried them on a whim, since they're a half size bigger than what I would normally get and hoped. They were marked down from $45 too. I can't wait to wear them.

Your new haircut is very cute. I love the shoes too.

Love the cut. You have a face that look really works for. I am jealous.

Thanks! Of course, it's too bloody hot to wear the heels now. At least the haircut's good for the heat.

Aww, thank you! I'm always worried that I'm going to look like a dope with short hair. It took me years to work up the gumption to cut it short the first time and almost a decade the second.

Long hair is such a pain.
