Lush!
I know I posted the other day about my pilgrimage to the Lush store in Harvard, so I figured it's time for me to review what I've used.
I know Lush has groupies like whoa, but I didn't really get it. I don't have a specific brand I'm loyal to, in skincare or make-up or anything, really. So I kind of figured that this would make just be a one time thing since I was in Cambridge anyway. After using the products, though, I can see why people tend to be so fanatic about it!
Steven and I bought two bath ballistics (Black Pearl and Champagne Supernova), two solid shampoos (Soak & Float and Godiva), Jungle conditioner, and I received a sample of Angels on Bare Skin.
Godiva This is the shampoo I've been using. It smells amazing, like gardenia and ylang ylang. I've been just rubbing it in my hands two or three times to get a lather and that's enough to wash my hair with. After the first wash, I noticed my hair felt softer and lighter. The scent lingers very nicely, too.
Soak & Float I haven't personally used this, but Steven has been. It does smell kind of like woodsmoke and fires, which isn't something that bothers me, but might bother other people. Steven has a very dry scalp and this seems to have reduced his flaking and itching a lot. He was touching his hair after using it too. It is a little overpowering. I can smell it through our whole upstairs.
Jungle I've just been rubbing this over my hairs, mostly on the ends. The smells is kind of outdoorsy and it lingers a lot more than even the Godiva. My hair seems pretty soft. I haven't noticed any real difference with liquid conditioner, other than I'm using a hell of a lot less. I used a little on my ends last night when I took a bath and didn't need to put product or anything on it to keep it from frizzing.
Angels on Bare Skin I really don't like the smell of this. It's supposed to smell kind of like lavendar, but it seems more like caraway seeds and cut grass to me. However, it's pretty much awesome on my face. The first day I used it, I had no dry spots and no greasies. Same with the second day. I'm sold. It's cheaper than my other face wash and works better, even if it kind of stinks. I'm heading back Tuesday to get more of it.
Black Pearl I used half of this in a bath last night. It fizzed like a science fair volcano when I dropped it in, much to my delight. There was also a little slip of paper, like a fortune tucked inside, which amused me to no end. The water was kind of blackish purple and had a fair amount of very fine silver glitter. The water did feel softer and I really enjoyed soaking. I could smell the scent off my skin after I got out and still had a little bit of glitter on me. When I got up this morning, I could still smell it faintly.
No one's used Champagne Supernova yet.
So yea, I'm sold.
