Year in Review // Happy New Year!
So, here I am, updating my journal as a wrap-up to the year. More for my benefit than anyone else's, I'm going to try and recap all the things that have happened this year.
January was ...cold... My rotten chevy broke down and I spent New Year's Eve 2000 sitting at home eating chips and dip with Matt.
February brought the demise of my next car and a nasty cold. Nothing happens in short months.
March was fairly interesting. I got my new car (yay!) and my new job at the Irish Hell. There was a big snowstorm that left us snowed in for three days. I remember thinking that it was going to miss us completely as I sat by the ocean and watched the front begin to roll in. I rather enjoyed running across the street in two feet of snow to get frozen drink mix on the first full day of the storm.
April brought Dawn down to shop for wedding shoes and dress material. The shoes lasted, the idea of making dresses didn't.
May had Dawn's wedding shower and the real beginning of the end for the planning. Dawn also had the first inkling that she might be expecting.
June was Dawn's wedding. Whatever misgivings I had about her dress; I was wrong. She was definitely the prettiest bride I'd ever seen and I was really glad to be able to be with her on her wedding day. She also found out for sure that she was expecting a baby, who was due in December.
July brought the end of my teenaged years, which was pretty scary. My birthday was pretty uneventful (no scary storms this year!) and I had all kinds of Hello Kitty stuff there. Twenty, my ass. I'll act 5 if I want to! Dawn somehow managed to plan a surprise party for me (another first). I started my fresh, new Hell at my new job.
I don't remember August. I guess nothing interesting happened.
September was long. It's wierd to think that someday my grandchildren will ask me where I was September 11th. like I had in the past asked my grandparents where they were Pearl Harbour Day.
October was another quick month. I did break my elbow, then, I think.
November was (in sequential order) Carleigh's birthday, Matt's birthday, Dawn's baby shower, Bill's birthday, Dawn's 21st. birthday/our 2 year anniversary, and Thanksgiving. I remember working a lot.
December was an effing looong month. I worked a lot, didn't get out a lot, didn't sleep a lot, and summarily got really sick. Highlights were seeing the Genitorturers the 11th. Christmas was good, though not white, and I went to see Lord of the Rings. I did not sleep a lot. The major highlight of the month, though, was Dawn having Brendan on the 29th. of the month.
Here's to 2002!
