How I shall now be known

From here on, I would like to be known as a woman of abandoned virtue. We were watching something about Jack the Ripper and they referred to the prostitutes as women of abandoned virtue. I am a fan of this phrase since it kind of intimates that you tried virtue, it wasn't loads of fun and has too much costly upkeep, so you abandoned it.

Battlestar is totally on, so no more thought function. Not that I had any since I'm getting a cold.

The only thing that would make that whole thing better is having those two circa 1920's pitchmen from the Guinness beer commercials standing there with the one to the right saying....."Women of abandoned virtue......Brilliat!!!"

That indeed would make it all the better.

That is a good phrase.
I like your new background.

Oh yeah, I've heard that - I seem to recall that they used that expression at the London Dungeon on the Jack the Ripper tour. It's like "yeah, I *had* virtue but couldn't be arsed to hang onto it..."

Have to say, don't *think* Guinness ever endorsed prostitution over here... certainly not a plaque I saw when I visited the factory in Dublin!! But funny thought...

Thank you. The penguins just begged to be smooshed.

That's exactly the way the said it and I lost my cookies. I thought it was the best thing I'd ever heard.

"Plague rats? BRILLIANT!!" As an aside, I used to call our pet rats my little plague carriers. Not many people found that funny.

Me, too. In fact, I think it should be the new title of my journal... if only I weren't so exhausted... zzzzzzzzzzzz...
