Because of the Impending!Snow!Doom!, I ended up with a snow day today. To be fair, the roads were pretty bad last night. On the drive home, we saw four accidents with a sum total of 22 cars and two spin-outs. I'm also not going to complain about a paid day off.

I decided to make the most of the day and tackled our bedroom, which has been a wreck pretty much since we moved in. We'd gone to IKEA yesterday and I saw and promptly fell in love with a bed with sheer curtains around it. I bought them, but I didn't want to put them up until the room was moderately cleaner.

We actually went to IKEA yesterday to look for a storage solution for down here. It is literally impossible to have the place look presentable because we have no place to out anything. There are bins stacked everywhere, our clothes are stacked, even when clean and folded, and things are all over the place. We have three racks, one of which makes up a wall in our bedroom space and two that have Christ knows what on it. It's not mine, as far as I know.

I'm not exactly sure what we're going to get yet. I should probably take pictures and post to [livejournal.com profile] saucyhelp or see if there's an IKEA comm or something. This is my first experience with studio living, so I'm really out in left field.

We spend $100 at Trader Joe's yesterday, as well. We had run out of literally everything we'd had. We haven't been eating fish at all because it's too expensive to buy fish and, honestly, I don't really want to drive to Warwick to try and find the Trader Joe's there. They had langoustine tails for a really good price, so we added those into our frozen fish stock up. Really, I should just stop by and buy a few things each time we're up in the area. What matters, though, is I now have lots of fish to eat and all is good in the world. I also have wheat pane bread, naan bread, and all kinds of other goodies too.

I finally put one of our wedding photos in a frame. I had an extra from when I made Steven's anniversary gift and it fit nicely in a Mikasa frame someone gave us.

I bought some chewable melatonin to see if that will help with my insomnia.

I started a 365 journal, as well. I'm very productive right now. The only thing I didn't get done today was our taxes, but I'll do them at some point this week.

I am DYING over here ın Istanbul b/c I can't watch my BSG and ıt's kıllıng me!!!! It's rıght there on the Intardweb but I can't see ıt because the network has ıt blocked (ı.e. they haven't done the dıstrıbutıon rıghts yet or somethıng). Thıs frıend-of-a-frıend ın Jordan turned me on to thıs proxy thıng ztunnel, problem there ıs I thınk ıt works by blockıng cookıes, so that I mıght be able to get at ıt, but I keep gettıng these messages, "you don't have Java," or, "you don't have Flash." Do too! Even stupıder, the local Dıgıturk satellıte servıce LISTS ıt, wıth the ad wıth 6 ın the mıddle & lots of text, but no DATE or TIME. Maybe they're just sıttıng on ıt. But I left just after Helen was tellıng John he was a sadıst, Tyrrell was fıxıng the cracks wıth the organıc paste, etc. and I am pıssed!!! There has got to be a way! (oh ıtis the same wıth hulu, too.)

Have you given www.surfthechannel.com a try? All of the BSG eps are there (as well as just about everything else you could want) and they are accessed via international servers so they shouldn't be blocked for you. If it's your last resort, it's worth a try!

You are so welcome! I figure eventually the networks will figure out the whole international contract BS and I figure they'll eventually figure out that offering low-rez archives and then a scaled fee higher quality archive works best. Until they sort themselves out though, you have STC doing it for them :D

Well everyone here uses Vtunnel et al & it totally did nothing, but you saved me. I just added ya. Thanks b/c it is kinda lonesome 7 time zones away, tell you the truth.

P.S. I thought Ellen was through being a bitch but I guess not. I felt so rotten for Caprica 6. That was just pure slime. It's like Ellen became a different person (back to jerk) once she left the baseship.

You might want to try ltunnel.com. Sometimes that works a little better than Z.

Is it at least warm in Turkey? Because we got a foot of snow here yesterday.

Overcast and blecch raınıng-foggy for 11 days straıght now. Today ıs an ımprovement! We have glary haze.

Sorry about the snow, geez, havıng just left the Cape, we have had plenty enough snow for 3 wınters, n'est-ce pas?

I'm so over winter here. You guys got hammered on the Cape this year, too. I guess this is the last time I disregard the Farmer's Almanac.

My daughter's doctor recommended she take Melatonin for her sleeping issues. I haven't gotten any yet. Let us know how it works for you?

So far, so good. I'm using them in conjunction with my Ambien since my doctor didn't say I couldn't (even though I would probably grow a third eye on my ass to go along with the rat cancer I'm going to get from using Splenda.)

I'm using the Trader Joe's chewables and they also aren't making me hork like most supplements.

Melatonın has helped me. I just took ıt before I went to bed, standard dose, dıd that for lıke a week & got back on somethıng lıke a normal sleep schedule, where ıt dıdn't take me an hour and a half to fall asleep. Don't overdo ıt though. I have some half-burıed memory tryıng to surface of too much melatonın and you can go through thıs phase where you're just sleepy all the tıme.

My sleep schedule is pretty much always frakked. I've been taking Ambien and it essentially means that I MIGHT get 4 hours of uninterrupted sleep. If the stars are in proper alignment. I have a tolerance to medicine that astounds my doctors. When I had knee surgery, they gave me an oral sedative, 2+ doses. The anaesthesiologist remarked to my husband that he'd never seen anyone take that much; I should have been out with half.

I'm taking 1500mcg and that seems to be enough to relax me so I can sleep. No hangover in the morning either.
